The 502s, an indie-folk band from Maitland, Florida, has been captivating audiences with their unique sound since their formation in 2015. The band was formed by Ed Isola and their music has been described as a “folk orchestra”, blending elements of indie folk, folk rock, folk pop, Americana and indie rock.
Known for their energetic live performances and charismatic personalities, the 502 have created a musical identity that has often been compared to the likes of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, The Avett Brothers and Rivaled by artists like Old Crow Medicine Show. The band’s longest-running lineup includes Ed Isola, Matthew Tonner (keyboards, guitar), Joe Capati (saxophone), Sean Froehlich (drums and percussion), and Nicholas Melashenko (bass guitar).
Graci Phillips joins the band in 2023, marking a new chapter in their musical journey. From early influences from bands like The Head and the Heart and Bear’s Den to winning Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival performance competitions, 502 has continued to develop their sound, leaving an indelible mark on the indie-folk scene.
