10 Best Megan Fox Movies To Watch If You Liked Subservience

Megan Fox’s recent science fiction movie, Subservience, is now trending on Netflix, and new audiences are loving the movie. Fox stars alongside a talented cast in Subservience, in which she plays a sentient android that is originally purchased to help assist Nick and his family with domestic tasks. However, as in similar robot movies like I, Robot and Ex Machina, Fox’s AI Alice has ulterior motives that are revealed as the movie progresses.

Though Subservience only received moderate reviews and a 50% Rotten Tomatoes score upon its release in the fall of 2024, attention from streaming audiences has rocketed Subservience into Netflix’s top 10 charts. Additionally, Subservience‘s ending leaves several questions open as well as the potential for a sequel, but, in the meantime, there are multiple other exciting Megan Fox movies for fans to enjoy.

For fans of Subservience who enjoyed the movie’s directorial style along with Megan Fox’s performance, Till Death is a great movie to watch next. The 2021 horror movie was directed by Subservience’s director, S.K. Dale, and served as his directorial debut. The film also received positive reviews from critics and currently holds a 90% critical approval score on Rotten Tomatoes, despite receiving less attention than Subservience, Dale and Fox’s previous collaboration has a lot of positive aspects.

Since Fox is the only consistent character throughout the film, its reception relies largely on her performance, and her cunning attempts to protect herself and escape from the killers do not disappoint.

In particular, critics praised Fox’s performance as Emma Davenport, a woman who finds herself handcuffed to her husband’s dead body while attempting to evade attackers at an isolated house. Since Fox is the only consistent character throughout the film, its reception relies largely on her performance, and her cunning attempts to protect herself and escape from the killers do not disappoint. Till Death is just as thrilling and shocking as Subservience, and Fox’s characters in each of Dale’s films are very fun to watch.

Despite Jonah Hex’s negative reception upon its release in 2010, the movie is still an entertaining watch. Josh Brolin stars as the titular character, Jonah Hex, who becomes a bounty hunter intent on stopping John Malkovich’s Turnbull, who seeks to attack the US government. Hex’s revenge plans are personal as well, since Turnbull killed Hex’s family and later attempts to target Fox’s character Lilah. Jonah Hex has non-stop action and impressive comic book characters that will keep audiences entertained throughout.

Fox’s Jonah Hex character Lilah Black is somewhat different to Subservience‘s Alice on the surface, but their characters actually do share some traits, which is what makes the pairing so exciting. Lilah Black is a confident and strong character who is able to think on her feet, despite briefly being pushed into the position of stereotyped damsel in distress. Likewise, Alice is smart and sure, but she diverges from Lilah with her malicious cunning. Thus, while Alice is villainous, Lilah gives Fox to showcase her acting talents as a kinder character that still shares the same strength.

Additionally, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows has a cast featuring several recognizable faces, including Will Arnett, Laura Linney, Tyler Perry, and more. While the series was initially planned to be a trilogy, the reviews were only slightly better than the first installment and the film did worse financially, meaning that, sadly, it is unlikely the third Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film will get made. However, audiences remain entertained by the kid-friendly superhero plot, making it an easy crowd-pleaser.

Initially panned by critics and audiences, Jennifer’s Body has become a cult classic in the years since its release and is one of Megan Fox’s best performances. Fox stars as the titular Jennifer Check alongside Amanda Seyfried as Needy, two teenage best friends who get thrown into tragedy in their small town, Devil’s Kettle. After a concert ends with the music venue burning down and numerous people dead, teenage boys begin to die mysteriously, and Needy begins to suspect that Jennifer may be responsible. The movie’s juxtaposition of humor and horror makes it a very fun watch with notable feminist themes.

Fox’s portrayal of the demonic Jennifer Check was her first foray into horror, a genre in which she has excelled since then. Additionally, the pairing of Jennifer and Needy creates the heart of the film, and their dynamic helps the film explore themes of female friendships and relationships as well as the wider treatment of women. In an interesting way, Fox’s character in Subservience can be likened to Jennifer because each seeks to seduce men for their own nefarious purposes, and it could be argued that this behavior is thrust upon them.

Transformers is the role that brought Megan Fox to international stardom. Though she had appeared in smaller movies before, such as Disney’s Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Transformers brought her attention as an adult actor rather than a child star. Fox’s character Mikaela Banes is the love interest of Sam Witwicky, and the two become inadvertently involved in the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons. With the help of the Autobots, they try to save the world before the Decepticon Megatron can build an army.

In an odd way, Megan Fox’s Subservience character is nearly exactly the opposite to her character in Transformers, since one attempts to stop a robot invasion and the other is a robot seeking to take over the lives of its host family. This contrast feels both funny and fitting, since both movies are very engaging in their own ways. Luckily, Michael Bay’s original Transformers movie is now streaming on Netflix, meaning that audiences can check out Megan Fox’s first big role for themselves to see how the movie star first rose to fame.
