Daredevil: Born Again is one of the most highly anticipated projects the MCU currently has that is set to be released. After appearances in a handful of other projects, Matt Murdock finally gets the spotlight once again for a brand-new series set within the MCU. Daredevil: Born Again was originally conceived as a sort-of reboot for the character with Charlie Cox continuing as Matt Murdock. Things change, of course, and the series has officially been confirmed as a continuation of the Netflix series that ran for three seasons.
Bullseye will also get a brand-new costume in the series, after he originally fought in the Daredevil costume on the Netflix show.
Because it is now a continuation, storylines that were never concluded in the original series could finally be followed up on. This bodes well for Bullseye, who’s journey ended on a cliffhanger. His fight scenes with Daredevil are some of the best superhero fights of all time and his return opens up the opportunity for even more fights to come. They were easily the two biggest heroes at the time, but the possibility of them ever interacting with each other was essentially zero, given Fox owned the rights to Wolverine while Sony controlled Spider-Man. That all changed when the Multiverse Saga made it so that Tobey Maguire and Hugh Jackman both returned to their roles in MCU movies.
With Avengers: Secret Wars promising to bring even more characters than ever together, a meeting over two decades in the making between two of the most iconic characters in Marvel film history seems like a very good possibility. Most of the members are already present in the universe, and Wiccan is currently looking for his brother Speed. When he finds him, it feels like it will be time for the MCU to finally do their Young Avengers movie.
Despite being relatively new in the comics compared to other teams like the Avengers, the Young Avengers have grown to be quite popular, and that shows Marvel Studios’ willingness to incorporate members of the team throughout various MCU projects. The foundation is there, it is just now up to Marvel to decide when best to get the team together. Sometimes, it could be hard for legacy characters to be good enough to lead their own projects. A lot of times, there isn’t enough to them as a character to justify it, but Miles Morales is different. Alongside Wally West’s Flash over at DC, Miles Morales is probably the best legacy comic book character of all time. Although Peter Parker is the de facto Spider-Man for a lot of people, Miles has been able to carve out his own identity and be his own Spider-Man.
Miles has a very successful animated movie franchise, but Marvel has shown interest in having Miles Morales joining the MCU at some point in the future. At this point, it really isn’t a matter of if, it’s more of when he actually will. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man looks to get another trilogy following his first one, and it’s almost certain that Miles Morales will be introduced in one of those movies, setting up the perfect way to keep Spider-Man in the MCU whenever Tom Holland decides to call it quits as the character.
