Star Wars’ next movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu, is sure to be a thrilling addition to Star Wars movies and TV shows, and these 10 cameos could make the movie even more brilliant. The Mandalorian & Grogu is one of the most anticipated of Star Wars’ upcoming movies, if not the single most anticipated. Excitingly, this movie not only brings The Mandalorian stories to the big screen, but also, it represents the very first Star Wars show to make this move.

This is perhaps unsurprising, as The Mandalorian is largely considered one of Star Wars’ best TV shows. However, The Mandalorian season 3 ending left the door open for an especially exciting update for the characters of the show and the galaxy more broadly in this era, which could see the return of countless fan-favorite characters. Of all the Star Wars cameos that could be included in The Mandalorian & Grogu, these 10 represent the most thrilling possibilities.

The Mandalorian’s story will continue with a Star Wars movie. Here’s everything we know about the project, including cast, release, and timeline.
10 Ben Solo
A Young Ben Solo Could Make An Appearance
Close
Ben Solo is one of many Force-users alive during The Mandalorian era. While the exact year The Mandalorian & Grogu is set remains undefined, it’s safe to assume it will take place some time after Ahsoka, as the Ahsoka finale seemed to perfectly set up both the possible heroes and possible villains of the movie. In light of that, Ben Solo would likely still be young in The Mandalorian & Grogu, but it’s quite possible that he will make an appearance.
This would be thrilling, as it could be the one way to bring Ben Solo back to Star Wars at this point. Despite Rey’s upcoming Star Wars movie, set 15 years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, on the horizon, it’s very unlikely Adam Driver will return to the role, both because Ben died and because Driver has indicated multiple times that he is done with the franchise. This possibility also seems relatively likely, as, assuming Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Temple plays any role in the movie, Ben Solo would no doubt be there.

9 Omega
The Bad Batch Confirmed Omega Joined The Rebels
Close
The ending of Star Wars: The Bad Batch was downright exhilarating, not only because it actually gave the clones a happy ending (which was a thorough shock) but also because it revealed that Omega’s Star Wars story likely wasn’t over. Specifically, The Bad Batch’s finale confirmed that Omega went on to become a pilot in the Rebellion. While that doesn’t guarantee her return in a future Star Wars project, it would be odd for the franchise to set up that story and never follow through on it.
Given that, it’s quite possible that Omega will make her live-action debut in The Mandalorian & Grogu. Omega became a very beloved character over the course of The Bad Batch, and viewers no doubt would be thrilled to see her return. Given her status as a pilot and her allegiance to the Rebellion, it makes sense that she would want to be part of the New Republic. If that’s the case, this would be a brilliant way for Star Wars to keep the clones’ story going in the franchise.
8 Luke Skywalker
Luke Was A Jedi Master During This Era

There has been plenty of speculation about whether Luke Skywalker will make an appearance in The Mandalorian & Grogu. In truth, it would be downright odd for Luke not to be included in the movie, as he would undoubtedly become involved in any threat to the galaxy. As it’s expected that the movie will see Din Djarin, Grogu, and the New Republic itself taking on the threat of Grand Admiral Thrawn, this all but requires an appearance from Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.
Of course, this would likely require a full recast of Luke. While Mark Hamill has been part of bringing Luke back to the Star Wars screen in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, a full-fledged movie would almost certainly demand a different approach. However, if Star Wars was to recast Luke, it would open up a world of possibilities for Luke’s continued role in the franchise. This cameo feels especially likely, as it would be rather difficult to explain Luke’s absence.
7 Leia Organa
Leia Was Heavily Involved With The New Republic
Close
Like Luke, it would be very difficult to explain Leia’s absence in The Mandalorian & Grogu. In fact, arguably, Leia’s appearance in the movie would be even more essential than Luke’s, as Leia was much more directly involved in the New Republic. Yet again, this would require a recast. In fact, in Leia’s case, recasting would be the only option, as, sadly, Carrie Fisher passed away before the release of The Rise of Skywalker.
Leia’s appearance in the movie would be even more essential than Luke’s.
However, Ahsoka already laid the groundwork for Leia’s return to the franchise. Although Leia did not appear in the show, she was directly mentioned, suggesting that Star Wars won’t shy away from her importance in this period. Presumably, the franchise can only avoid including Leia for so long before it becomes illogical, and Star Wars’ newest movie seems like the perfect opportunity. Moreover, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story introduced a new face for Leia—albeit with a bit of an uncanny valley effect that needs a little work.
6 Ahsoka Tano
Ahsoka Was Last Seen On Peridea, But She Can Surely Come Back
Close
As mentioned, there seems to be a natural connection between Ahsoka and The Mandalorian & Grogu. While that link hasn’t been directly confirmed, it would be a true shock for the new movie not to pick up where Ahsoka left off. Specifically, Ahsoka season 1 ended with Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn on their way back to the main Star Wars galaxy after a period stuck on Peridea. Unfortunately, Ahsoka Tano and her Jedi Padawan Sabine Wren switched places with them, now trapped on the planet instead.
Nevertheless, Ezra and Thrawn proved there are ways off Peridea, so Ahsoka and Sabine are likely to find their way home. In fact, while Ahsoka seemed at peace with her new predicament, if Thrawn was a threat to the galaxy, Ahsoka, as one of few known Jedi alive at the time, would want to help. Even with Ahsoka season 2 in the works, it would make sense for Ahsoka to be involved in The Mandalorian & Grogu, making her cameo feel quite likely.
5 Sabine Wren
Sabine’s Newfound Jedi Identity Will Be Essential In Stopping Thrawn
Close
Presumably, Sabine will now be anywhere Ahsoka Tano is, so, if Ahsoka is in The Mandalorian & Grogu, Sabine will almost certainly be there too. In fact, assuming The Mandalorian & Grogu is set before Ahsoka season 2, Ahsoka’s storyline in the movie would very likely include master and apprentice making their way off Peridea. This would also make sense if Thrawn was the main villain in the movie, as Sabine, more than anyone else, remains dedicated to Ezra.
In fact, ironically, the entire point of Sabine and Ahsoka traveling to Peridea was to locate Ezra and help him return to the main Star Wars galaxy. While they technically did so, this also meant that Sabine and Ezra were ripped apart yet again. Hopefully, The Mandalorian & Grogu can see the old friends truly be reunited, tackling this latest threat together.
4 Hera Syndulla
Hera’s Role In The New Republic Has Already Been Revealed
Close
Even if Ahsoka and Sabine aren’t in The Mandalorian & Grogu, perhaps with Star Wars keeping them on Peridea until Ahsoka season 2, Hera seems almost guaranteed to be. Assuming that Thrawn is the villain, Hera will likely be exactly who Din Djarin needs to align with. Hera has considerable experience with Thrawn, has history fighting alongside the Rebels, and has already been revealed to be working closely with the New Republic.

In fact, even if Thrawn isn’t the main villain, it will make sense for Hera to have a cameo, if not a more significant role. In The Mandalorian season 3 finale, Din Djarin agreed to take on jobs for the New Republic. In light of that, Hera and Din Djarin might cross paths naturally. After all, Ahsoka revealed that Hera is dedicated (perhaps more than most) to squashing any Imperial remnants.
3 Ezra Bridger
Ezra Is On His Way Back To The Main Star Wars Galaxy
Close
Like the other members of the Ahsoka cast, it would make plenty of sense for Ezra to have a cameo in The Mandalorian & Grogu. With Ahsoka and Sabine on Peridea, Ezra is now one of very few Jedi confirmed to be alive and involved in the galaxy at the time. Whether Thrawn is the biggest threat to the galaxy or not, Ezra would almost certainly play a role.
It would make plenty of sense for Ezra to have a cameo in
The Mandalorian & Grogu
.
Moreover, Ezra is a fan-favorite character, and audiences have largely been thrilled to see Eman Esfandi take up the live-action Ezra Bridger mantle. Esfandi also seems quite happy to be part of the Star Wars franchise, suggesting that he would be receptive to such a role. This could also have fascinating implications, specifically regarding whether Luke and Ezra ever have any sort of interaction. It’s unclear even now how aware Luke was of the other active Jedi in this era.
2 Grand Admiral Thrawn
Thrawn And The Imperial Remnants Will Almost Certainly Be Star Wars’ Latest ‘Big Bads’
Close
As has been mentioned, Grand Admiral Thrawn is expected to be the main villain in The Mandalorian & Grogu. Following Ahsoka season 1, Thrawn represents a major threat to the New Republic—perhaps the most significant one other than (eventually) the First Order. Thrawn isn’t just an Imperial remnant; he is a powerful, wise warrior who has plenty of experience with snuffing out hope and resistance from the Imperial Era.
Thrawn isn’t just an Imperial remnant; he is a powerful, wise warrior who has plenty of experience with snuffing out hope and resistance from the Imperial Era.
Moreover, Thrawn has the ability to truly unite those who either remain loyal to the Empire or who have lingering sympathy for the Empire and what it purported to stand for. Given that, he could create an opposition to the New Republic that could actually affect its future. In fact, the seeds of the First Order could very well begin with Thrawn and his attack on the New Republic.
1 Bo-Katan Kryze
Bo-Katan’s New Role Will No Doubt Be Critical In This New Story
Close
Bo-Katan Kryze’s absence in The Mandalorian & Grogu would be the single most shocking absence of them all. The Mandalorian has revealed how absolutely essential Bo-Katan is, and, as she now seems to be the ruler of Mandalore, it follows that she would be a major player in the upcoming movie. In fact, even outside that key role, Bo-Katan’s relationship with Din Djarin makes her inclusion in the movie feel almost guaranteed.
Of course, Star Wars surprisingly has yet to confirm Bo-Katan’s return in the movie, which means it isn’t a sure thing. Yes, it would be a surprise for Bo-Katan to be absent (and it would undoubtedly require some sort of explanation in the movie), but it’s possible she won’t play a role in the movie. At present, while these 10 possible cameos in The Mandalorian & Grogu would be thrilling, Star Wars has yet to confirm them, one way or another.
