While Elrond is a main character in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, seen as a younger Elf, he still has an important role to play in the original trilogy of movies. Elrond is the Elven Lord of Rivendell and an essential part of setting the quest to destroy the One Ring in motion.
