Paddington provides the poignant, and still very timely, message that love, family and home can be found regardless of species, in the case of Paddington. Speaking of the bear himself, Whishaw is excellent as Paddington and imbues the fluffy protagonist with as much charm, courtesy and kindness as you would expect. The CGI is almost perfect and Paddington is without a doubt one of the cutest protagonists in recent years. In general, Paddington works on almost every level, and it’s only the strengths of its successor that prevent it from topping this list.

As mentioned, Paddington 2 takes everything that worked in the first one and does the exact same thing again, only with a bigger story, a better villain, more heart, and more laughs.
