Battlefield 2042 Update 6.4.0 Patch Notes: Improvements and Fixes

Battlefield 2042 Update 6.4.0

DICE, the company behind Battlefield 2042, has shared some exciting news about the game’s latest update, called Update 6.4.0. This update will be released next week and will be the last before Season 7 begins. When Battlefield 2042 was first released, some players weren’t happy with it, but DICE has been working hard to make it better with regular updates. Now, they’re getting ready to release this final update before heading into the game’s next big season.

In the 6.4.0 update, players can look forward to several improvements to improve their gaming experience. One of the main highlights is the return of the Arkangel Directive event, a special event that was well received by players when it was first launched. This event features a game mode called Control, where teams can play 24v24 matches on different maps. Two new maps, Breakaway and Discarded, are also added to this mode to add more fun.

DICE has made some changes to the customization experience in Battlefield Portal in anticipation of Season 7. This means players can keep custom game modes active for a few days during a season when there isn’t much activity. While some players were hoping for similar changes to the main game mode, Total War, DICE is only making this adjustment to Battlefield Portal for now.

The 6.4.0 update also improves the game’s HUD, which is a display that shows important information during gameplay. They make it easier for players to see where enemies are and where they need to aim, especially when flying a plane or helicopter. In addition, various bugs will be fixed to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

The update will be released on all platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, and PC) on Wednesday, February 28. Players can look forward to these changes as they continue their journey in Battlefield 2042. With update 6.4.0, DICE aims to address player feedback and make the game even more fun before Season 7 arrives in March.

Battlefield 2042 6.4.0 Update Patch Notes

Arcangel Directive

Arkangel Directive is now implemented. Take advantage of the Ascension satellite network and experience the control mode. Capture and hold rotating objectives to upload tactical telemetry data, collect the most telemetry data to control the area, and earn Ascension points to purchase vehicles.

Follow your orders. Take control.

Control is played in 24v24 format in Reclaimed, Orbital, Valparaiso and Arica Harbor, and your goal is to collect telemetry data and upload it to the Arkangel satellite. Update 6.4 will support two more maps in Breakaway and Discarded.

Persistent Server Updates

Season 6 has now concluded and we are heading into Season 7. As we head into the new season, we are improving the functionality of the Battlefield Portal persistent servers.

Going forward, all custom experiences created in the Battlefield Portal will now benefit from two days of server retention if Battlefield 2042 does not have an active season, whereas this was previously unavailable.

During the active season, if you own the Battle Pass, you will still enjoy 7 days of server persistence. Keep your server active longer.

Improved aircraft gunner directional HUD

In Update 6.4, we have continued to expand on the directional HUD functionality included in the last game update. Based on player feedback, you can now see the direction of the gunner more clearly.

We have also provided the ability to select default, legacy, both or disable this HUD feature in the options screen. This feature is called “Helicopter Gunner View”.

Default: Battlefield 2042’s standard HUD, where the weapon barrel shows the direction of the gunner.

Heritage: Inspired by previous games. This shows the gunner’s pitch and yaw using animation triangles inside a larger rectangular box.

Both: Both elements will be visible at the same time, with one on top of the other.

Helicopter impact point UI HUD

Similar to the improved Gunner Direction HUD options above, players can now select different crosshair indicators for their hit point crosshairs. You can now select a cross, plus sign, circle, or disable the crosshair in the crosshair options screen.

Battlefield 2042 Overview

Battlefield 2042 is a popular shooter game produced by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It was released on November 19, 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is the twelfth major installment in the Battlefield series.

Unlike other games in the series, Battlefield 2042 focuses solely on multiplayer. This means there is no story mode for you to play on your own. Instead, you can join other players from around the world in exciting battles. The game also allows people to play together regardless of what device they are using (such as PlayStation or Xbox), which is something new for Battlefield games.

However, Battlefield 2042 was released to mixed reviews. Some people loved it, but others had issues with it. Critics and players complained about technical glitches, lack of features, and changes to the gameplay. Although many were excited about the game, it didn’t sell as well as Electronic Arts had hoped.

Despite these challenges, Battlefield 2042 remains a popular choice for players who enjoy multiplayer shooters. Its release marked a major shift for the Battlefield series, focusing entirely on multiplayer. While it has been criticized, it still attracts players around the world to join in the epic battle set in the futuristic world of 2042.

Battlefield 2042 Gameplay

In Battlefield 2042, players will be thrown into the exciting battle of the future. In the game, players can play with other players online, shoot enemies and work together to win. Players can use cool weapons and equipment, such as turrets and drones, and even drive vehicles around.

One great feature is the “Plus” system. It allows you to change weapons during the game, making it easier to adapt to different situations. Instead of choosing a specific class like before, you can choose from specialists with their own skills and equipment. For example, some specialists can fly in wingsuits, while others can heal teammates with special guns.

Just like previous Battlefield games, you can blow everything up! Buildings can collapse, and weather effects like tornadoes can change the battlefield. There are seven large maps to explore, including one called “Breakaway,” the largest map in Battlefield history.

There are three main ways to play the game. Total War includes modes like Conquest and Breakthrough, where you can capture or defend strongholds. You can play with many other players, up to 128 players on some consoles. Also, you can play with your friends no matter what console they have, which is pretty cool!

If you’re feeling creative, try Battlefield Portal. Here, you can create your own game modes using maps from old Battlefield games. You can even use special tools to change the way the game plays. If you want something a little different, there’s also Danger Zone mode, where you team up with others to find and capture valuable items while avoiding enemy AI. Successfully completing missions earns you points that you can use to buy better gear.

Battlefield 2042 offers a thrilling multiplayer experience with multiple ways to play and customize your experience. Whether it’s blowing up buildings, creating new game modes, or teaming up with friends, there’s always something exciting happening in the world of 2042.
