3. Void Knight
Void Knight is at the bottom of the list, but it is still very powerful if paired with the right talents and gear. A popular build among players is Hammer Slam, which unleashes a storm of hammers and void bolts to decimate enemies. Void Knight is also fun to level up, and it becomes increasingly powerful as the game progresses.
2. Forge Guard
Currently, Maxroll considers Forge Guard (especially the Manifest Armor build) to be the best choice for Sentinel boss fights. While it may lack area of effect (AoE) damage, this build excels at dealing heavy single target damage, especially against bosses. Additionally, Forge Guard performs well as it levels up, making it a great choice for players looking for a straightforward gameplay focused on single target damage, as well as a battle pet option.
1. Paladin
Paladin is the best Sentinel specialization class in Last Epoch, and the main character class. Paladins are javelin-based, very durable, have incredible AoE potential, and are fun to level up. Additionally, Paladins have the most diverse playstyles, with a variety of powerful builds to choose from. This variety is essential for players who plan to use their character for the long term, or who enjoy trying out different abilities.

In this game, there are five classes, each with three subclasses. When you start the game, you can choose one of the five classes. As the campaign progresses, you will choose one of the three subclasses of that class, and this is a permanent choice.
You can’t change it later, so it defines your character. If you want to choose a different subclass, you need to create a new character. Your character’s abilities come from the skills you choose from your main class and subclass.
You can select these skills in the skill bar, and you can change them at any time. For example, if you are a mage, you can use mage skills, and if you are a rune master, you can use rune master subclass skills. You can also enhance certain skills through the skill tree, unlocking more enhancements as you level up.
As you play, you earn points to invest in the skill tree for each skill, changing how the skill works. This affects its damage, duration, damage type, and behavior in combat. So it’s not just about the skills you choose, but how you use the skill tree to enhance them.
