To celebrate the album’s release and commemorate their 40th anniversary, The Black Crowes have announced the Happiness Bastards Tour. The tour will cover 35 cities in North America and Europe, starting on April 2 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville and ending on June 9 at the Stones Music Festival in Merida. Notable stops include Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York, as well as European cities such as Manchester, London, Paris, and Berlin.

The Black Crowes are a rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 1984. They have released eight studio albums, four live albums and a number of hit singles. They secured a record deal in 1989 and released their first album, Shake Your Money Maker, in 1990. Their second album, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, topped the Billboard 200 in 1992.

They released several more albums, such as America (1994), Three Snakes and One Charm (1996), By Your Side (1999) and Lion (2001), but these albums did not Didn’t achieve the same success as the first two. They took a break from 2002 to 2005, then returned to tour and released Warpaint in 2008, which did well on the charts.

In 2010, they released a greatest hits/acoustic album and went on a 20th anniversary tour. They took another break but returned in 2019 for a 2020 tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker. By that point, only Chriss and Richie Robinson were left on the original roster.

As of August 2023, the band consists of the Robinson brothers, long-time bassist Sven Pipien, and new members Nico Bereciartua (lead guitar), Cully Symington (drums), and Erik Deutsch (keyboards). Their latest album “Happiness Bastards” will be released in March 2024.

The Black Crowes have sold more than 30 million albums and are considered one of the greatest hard rock bands. Melody Makers called them “the rockiest rock band in the world,” and in 1990, readers of Rolling Stone magazine voted them “Best New American Band.”
