Unfortunately, Dal-ho accidentally kills Hyun-bo in his quest for revenge. Myung-ho tells Hee-soo the news, and Hee-soo is finally relieved to know about Dal-ho’s involvement. As Hee-soo prepares to leave, she receives a farewell gift from the king. Before she leaves, Hee-soo spends a special night with the king, expressing their love for each other. The king then focuses on his duties and closes his private go venue.
Nine months later, Jepyo, who betrayed Joseon and joined forces with Qing, reappears in Joseon society. The king pretends to be friendly with Jepyo but secretly plots revenge. Meanwhile, King Seo’s death allows the princess to return to Joseon, where she is secretly replaced by a maid. Hee-soo returns cautiously, meeting only with Myeong-ha.
