close to the sun

Close to the Sun is a horror adventure game in which you play as a reporter named Rose Archer trying to save her sister Ada. The story is set in an alternate 1897, where inventors Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison are vying for control of technology. The game mainly takes place on a large ship called “Helios”, which is operated by Tesla and hosts the world’s top scientists. While praised for its inventive story and impressive settings, some disliked the gameplay and found it less than great, especially when it came to escaping or solving puzzles.

It was released for Windows in 2019 and has since been released for other platforms, including Amazon Luna in 2022.
