Does Granblue Fantasy Relink have Ultrawide Support? Know Here

Does Granblue Fantasy Relink have ultrawide support?

The new version released on February 1, 2024 doesn’t bring the cool bonus of ultrawide support. But who knows, things might change in the future. There have been some cases of games adding ultrawide support after the initial release – PlatinumGames may make a similar move. Ultrawide support is pretty standard nowadays, so it’s a bit puzzling why the new Granblue Fantasy game doesn’t have it from the start. Maybe some optimization issues.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the developers to finally adapt the game for ultrawide monitors. While the game doesn’t officially support ultrawide monitors, the community may be able to fix this through mods. Mods are usually free and can effectively break the original limitations of the game. However, be patient – creating such mods may take some time.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink has a 4K resolution with a standard aspect ratio of 16:9, but the wider 21:9 ratio isn’t available on any platform. If you’re using an ultrawide monitor, don’t worry – you can still play the game. The problem? The game’s maximum ratio will be locked to 16:9, with black bars on the sides to fill the extra space. In windowed mode, that space will simply mirror your desktop or other open windows. So, start gaming!

Can I use ultra-wide screens in Granblue Fantasy Relink?

While Cygames was technically able to incorporate ultrawide screen support into its game, the practicality of such an addition seems surprising given that only a relatively small percentage of gamers use 21:9 monitors.

For many developers, including this feature might not be a top priority, especially when games can still be accessed and played on these ultrawide monitors albeit without specific support.

From a developer’s perspective, if the majority of players are happy with the current gaming experience on a standard monitor, then there is less urgency to implement ultrawide support. This decision is often influenced by the resources required for development and the perceived demand of the player base.

However, the history of the gaming industry suggests that even when official game developers don’t prioritize ultra-broad support, the modding community is likely to step in. Game modders have a track record of meeting player needs and desires that might not be met by the original developer.

So while the official version of Granblue Fantasy: Relink may not be officially adapted for ultrawide users, there’s a good chance dedicated modders will take up the challenge and enhance the gaming experience for users of 21:9 monitors.

Granblue Fantasy Relink

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is part of the Granblue Fantasy series and is a cool action RPG made by Cygames. It is released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows on February 1, 2024, and critics are raving about it.

The great thing about Granblue Fantasy: Relink is that you don’t have to be connected to the servers all the time. You can play the game offline and still perform quests in either online or offline mode. This is great because not all games allow you to play without being connected to the servers all the time.

Another cool thing is how you pick your characters. While there is one main character, you can choose almost any crew member for almost any mission. This adds fun to your playthrough.

If you like Monster Hunter, Granblue Fantasy: Relink may feel familiar to you. Its quest and progression settings are similar to Monster Hunter, with a main hub, quest board, and a large number of upgradeable weapons. Fans of Monster Hunter may like this setting very much.

Development of Granblue Fantasy Relink

In August 2016, the gaming world was abuzz with the announcement of Granblue Fantasy: Relink (originally known as Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link), a creative fusion of PlatinumGames and Cygames, with both companies joining forces to bring their own unique talents to the table.

Composers Nobuo Uematsu and Tsutomu Narita weave musical magic, while Hideo Minaba adds his artistic vision.

Fast forward to September 2016, and the game was greenlit for development on the PlayStation 4, with a planned release date of 2018. Excitement for the game peaked at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference, where fans got a sneak peek at the game.

Although the game enters a new location in Granblue Fantasy’s fictional universe, the appearance of familiar characters from the original game adds a sense of nostalgia, especially for loyal fans who are eagerly awaiting this new adventure.
