The Smile Curse is the powerful force that causes many characters to commit suicide throughout the game. Smile and Smile 2and here are all the confirmed victims of the franchise and how they died. The curse of the smile is the main source of conflict throughout the world. Smile franchise, which leads to the death of almost everyone who becomes possessed by it. All of the other Smile Entity victims were possessed, became victims for a few days, and then ended their own life, passing it on to the next victim. However, upon investigating the Smile Entity in the original film, Rose Cotter seeks out Robert Talley and he explains to her how he managed to survive his encounter with the demonic force.

When Rose meets Robert Talley, he is in prison for murder. Talley tells him that instead of ending his own life, he killed someone else. This caused the Smile Entity to be transferred to the key witness to the murder, meaning that Robert himself did not have to die. While this method of exorcising the Smile Entity is not seen anywhere else in the world Smile franchise, Robert suggests that Rose try it, meaning that it appears to be an effective way to pass on the smile curse to another person.

In Smile 2protagonist Skye Riley is tracked down by a mysterious stalker named Morris. Morris has been tracking the Smile Entity for his last eight hosts, and has been trying to reach his host before they die. Morris is unable to contact Lewis before his death, but after some digging, Morris discovers that Skye Riley is the last person Lewis texted. This allows Morris to correctly deduce that the Smile Curse happened to her, and the duo met at a bar.

At the bar, Morris explains that his brother was actually a victim of the smiling curse, although no one believed him when he tried to explain the curse. Morris’s brother then ripped his own jaw off with a crowbar and passed the curse on to someone at a gas station. Although this is not confirmed, it would make sense that Morris’s brother would have been the key witness in the murder committed by Robert Talley, although it is possible that there were more victims between the two.

Very little is known about the victim who chased Morris’s brother, and Morris only mentions him briefly. This victim is the one who saw Morris’ brother rip his jaw off with a crowbar. While the gas station man’s method of death is not explained, he is key to linking the events described in Smile 2 to the events of Laura hasn’t sleptcreating the domino effect that continues on Smile and the end of Smile 2.

Much of the story of Gabriel Muñoz’s time possessed by the Smile Entity comes from the 2020 short film. Laura hasn’t slept as well as the beginning of the original smile. As Laura Weaver explains, Gabriel Muñoz was her art history teacher and had seen Angela Powell gouge out her eyes while she was in the elevator.

This led to Gabriel Muñoz being possessed by the Smile Entity, and he dealt with the Smile Curse for the next few days. Muñoz then ended his own life by breaking his jaw and hitting himself repeatedly with a hammer, with Laura Weaver witnessing this death.

All of the aforementioned deaths occurred before the events of the Smile franchise, with Laura hasn’t slept starting the franchise with the story of Laura Weaver. In the short film, Laura is a graduate student who witnessed her art history professor, Gabriel Muñoz, beating himself to death with a hammer. This led to Laura becoming infected with the Smiling Curse, although her various psychiatrists believed her condition was caused by a psychotic break that was the result of witnessing her teacher’s suicide.

Laura Weaver returns in the first SmileRose Cotter being his doctor. During one of their sessions, Smile Entity kills Laura, and she uses a fragment of a broken pot to slit his throat. Rose has to witness Laura’s death, this being the Smile The first on-screen death of the franchise and the start of the films’ events.
