Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Fall of Heroes walkthrough
Arrival at the crash site
At the opening of Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth, don’t skip any of the cutscenes, even if you’ve already played the demo, as there are new cutscenes. After the cutscene ends, head toward the stairs and exit Midgar. The path is linear, so focus on progression rather than exploration.
Explore Nibelheim
After the cutscene, you’ll briefly control Sephiroth in a one-sided battle with a monster. After more cutscenes, you’ll control Cloud as he explores Nibelheim. Be sure to interact with Cloud’s old house and visit his mom. Don’t forget to take the Aether from Tifa’s parents’ bedroom. Approach the Nidhogg Hotel and approach the man in the red cloak to trigger a cutscene.
Follow Tifa

When you regain control of Cloud, follow Tifa and destroy any boxes you come across to obtain useful items. Engage in combat and learn the ropes of using abilities and magic. Continue following Tifa, fighting enemies and taking in the various combat mechanics tutorials. Eventually, you’ll come across a large monster called the Screamer, who you’ll need to defeat in order to proceed.
Visit the facilities
Travel through the facility, engage in combat and overcome obstacles. You will encounter the first boss fight in the game, which will serve as a tutorial. Learn about unblockable attacks, targeting specific parts of the enemy, and using magic to defeat the boss.
Investigating the reactor
After defeating the boss, enter the reactor and trigger a cutscene. Follow the path until you reach a broken door. Enter the room to trigger a cutscene, then find the pressure valve. Hold L2 and R2 until Cloud turns the wheel, then repeat until the main objective updates.
Find Sephiroth
Return to the village and trigger more cutscenes when you find Sephiroth in the library. After the cutscene, return to the village and follow the path until it is blocked by burning rubble. Find another path to Cloud’s house, trigger a cutscene, and continue the storyline.
Magic Stone Location
In this chapter you can find various materials:
- Green Materia: Found on a ledge near the dead end Tifa warned you about.
- Purple Magic Stone: Right next to the first rest stop.
- Blue Magic Stone: On the ledge before the battle with the Ancestors.
- Purple Magic Stone: Shortly after the battle with the Ancestors, on a metal platform.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth gameplay
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second in a trilogy that retells the story of the 1997 classic game. It continues the story of Final Fantasy VII Remake, which began with the team’s escape from Midgar. In the game, players control Cloud Strife, who once worked for Shinra but now works with Avalanche to stop Shinra from using the planet’s life force energy. This also involves facing Sephiroth, a powerful soldier who was thought to be gone. Similar to the remake, Rebirth offers a new version of the original game’s story with more details about the characters and an improved storyline.
Compared to its predecessor, this game allows players to explore and fight in real time, and the game world is more open. On-screen markers will show players where the main quest and side quests are going. Characters can speed up their travel by riding chocobos. “Rebirth” also improves the combat system, combining action-centric combat with the real-time battle (ATB) system. Players can switch characters during battle and use physical attacks, magic, and items.
There’s also a “synergy” feature that allows characters to coordinate attacks, but will cause the ATB bar to fill up more slowly. These changes make the game more exciting and strategic, giving players a deeper, more engaging experience.
