Granblue Fantasy Relink Roll of the Die Explained Here

Granblue Fantasy Relink Dice Roll

In Granblue Fantasy Relink, there is a special feature called the “Dice Roll” marker. This unique mechanic specifically affects normal attacks, and does not affect customizable abilities. The effects of the marker vary from character to character, and may affect both left-click and right-click attacks, but it is worth noting that Rosetta’s right-click ability is not affected.

The key detail to understand is that after the crit check, the damage is converted to 1, causing the damage output to display as “1 and 1!!”. Based on player observations and statistics collected from testing, the frequency of damage multipliers is as follows: 1 damage 46% of the time, 1x damage 27% of the time, 2x damage 16% of the time, 3x damage 10% of the time, and 4x damage only 1% of the time.

With the “roll dice” flag activated, total damage after one minute varied from 568-892, while without the flag it remained at 925. Players who rely primarily on quick and frequent attacks with left-click will likely see the biggest gains in overall DPS, especially with the damage multiplier distribution favoring 4x rolls. However, for those who focus on damage windows or engaging in specific game scenarios, the mechanic may hinder the overall damage of normal attacks.

Die Sigil scroll from Granblue Fantasy Relink

In Granblue Fantasy: Relink, the “Dice Roll Mark” plays a vital role in changing the maximum damage that can be dealt in combat. This special Mark is a game-changer as it provides the opportunity to go beyond the usual damage cap limit. The Mark’s name comes from the dice-rolling mechanic in the game, adding some element of chance to the damage dealt.

When equipped, the Scroll of Dice Mark allows you to make your damage output unpredictable. It introduces variation by affecting the amount of damage you deal to your enemies. This means that instead of your attacks always dealing the same damage numbers, they have the potential to go beyond the usual limits, giving you a chance to deal higher damage in certain situations.

It is worth noting that despite the added element of chance, the maximum damage a single attack can inflict appears to be capped at 999,999, as indicated by the description of the “roll the dice” feature. This suggests that, despite the changes introduced by the Marks, there is still a pre-defined upper limit to the amount of damage that can be inflicted in the game.

In order to fully utilize the dice sigil, players may want to experiment in practice mode. Trying different combinations of attack or damage sigils while observing the damage numbers can help determine the effectiveness of this unique sigil in breaking the damage cap and achieving higher damage output.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink Development

Development on Granblue Fantasy: Relink began in August 2016 under the title Project Granblue Fantasy Re: Link. The game is a collaboration between PlatinumGames and Cygames, with composers such as Nobuo Uematsu and Akira Narita, and artist Hideo Minaba.

Originally announced for PlayStation 4 in September 2016, the game is scheduled for release in 2018 and is set in the same fictional world as the original Granblue Fantasy, but explores different locations and features familiar characters. Gameplay was first revealed at GranBlue Fes 2017, when the game was revealed to feature either four-player cooperative multiplayer or a single-player mode with three AI characters.

In December 2018, the official title of the game was announced as Granblue Fantasy: Relink. However, by February 2019, PlatinumGames withdrew from the project and Cygames took over full development responsibilities. PlatinumGames’ Relink director Yasuyuki Kaji continued to develop the game with Cygames until completion.

Originally scheduled for release in 2018, the release date of Granblue Fantasy: Relink was postponed, first to 2022, then further to 2023, and finally scheduled for February 1, 2024. In order to give players a preview, a playable demo was released on January 11, 2024, allowing fans to experience the fun of the game before the official release.
