Though he may be one of Star Wars’ tiniest heroes, Grogu is also one of the franchise’s mightiest heroes, and his incredible Force feats in The Mandalorian prove his strength, resilience, and his deep compassion for others. As only the third member of Yoda’s mysterious species ever shown in the galaxy far, far away, Grogu was known to be a powerful Force user from the start. Though he hasn’t had the chance to use the Force on many occasions just yet, Grogu has made every single feat count – for better or for worse.

Grogu didn’t have a chance to complete his Jedi training before Order 66 was enacted, leading to his escape from the Coruscant Jedi Temple with Jedi Master Kelleran Beq. His life was cast in darkness afterward, with so many of his friends and closest allies either dead or being hunted by Imperial Inquisitors, which made Grogu even more hesitant to tap into the Force. After meeting his adoptive father, Din Djarin, in The Mandalorian, however, Grogu gained the bravery to find the Force again. Here are his most incredible Force feats ever since then.

This is a prime example of Grogu accomplishing an impressive Force feat for the worse rather than for the better. After being captured by Moff Gideon and his Dark Troopers on the planet Tython, Grogu unleashes his wrath upon the stormtroopers who are stationed to watch over him in his cell. He tosses them around the cell before he lifts the two of them in a Force choke, only stopping when his own exhaustion leads to him throwing them hard against one another. This feat is a welcome sight to Gideon, who hungers to have Grogu’s power himself.
Related Grogu’s 9 Force Powers In Star Wars So Far
Grogu’s Force powers in The Mandalorian keep growing stronger every season. He’s used at least 9 different Force powers so far, with more to come.
Though this is indeed an impressive, and clearly powerful, feat, its connection to the dark side sets it back significantly. Because Grogu has not yet completed his training at this point, he is slipping into dark side abilities and tendencies, something he previously did in The Mandalorian season 1 when he Force choked Cara Dune. This action also clearly tires him out, as Grogu is left wheezing in exhaustion on the bench of his prison cell by the time Gideon approaches him and secures him in Force-resistant cuffs.

Having been trained in the Jedi Way for a year or so by Luke Skywalker himself before receiving the first steps of Mandalorian training from his adoptive father, Grogu is much more powerful and light-side affiliated in The Mandalorian season 3 finale. Rather than using the Force with aggression and violence the way he did in the prison cell on Gideon’s light cruiser, Grogu focuses on disarming his opponents to put them at a more peaceful disadvantage. He does this to both Gideon and his Praetorian Guards in The Mandalorian season 3’s climactic battle.
Closed off from his father, Grogu manages to hold his own against Gideon’s three vicious guards by running and flipping above them. Once his father comes to his rescue, Grogu is just as instrumental in the fight against them as Din Djarin is, as he disarms the guards and pushes them back while his father engages in full combat. They fall into a rhythm that leads to the guards’ defeat and an even stronger fight against Gideon, who Grogu disarms shortly before the Imperial Remnant leader’s death. Grogu has, however, done many more impressive things with the Force.
8 Grogu Uses The Force To Communicate With Ahsoka Tano

Though not as combat heavy as the previous two Force feats, Grogu’s ability to communicate with Ahsoka Tano through the Force is very impressive. As a young member of his species, Grogu still doesn’t have the ability to speak for himself, which could have put him at odds upon meeting Ahsoka on the forested planet of Corvus. Instead, Grogu is able to use the Force to tell her more about himself and his past, an effort that’s successful and ultimately tires him out enough to put him to sleep.
Ahsoka Tano
The apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano was an accomplished Padawan who served during the Clone Wars. Ahsoka left the Jedi after she became disillusioned with the Jedi Council, but returned to serve in the Siege of Mandalore at the end of the Clone Wars. She survived Order 66, becoming a Rebel agent during the Dark Times of the Empire’s reign, and her adventures continue in the New Republic era. Ahsoka was last seen stranded in a distant galaxy, having failed to prevent Grand Admiral Thrawn’s return.

This ability is unlike any other seen in Star Wars live-action to date, which certainly makes it an incredible Force feat – even if it isn’t a showstopping visual display. Grogu is able to provide Ahsoka with enough information to help her understand who he is, which she can then pass on to the father figure Grogu has no doubt been yearning to communicate with. This feat is notable for its uniqueness, though the sheer power of his other feats sets it rather far back.

Similarly to Grogu communicating with Ahsoka, this feat is rooted in both peace and defense instead of actual combat. His confrontation with Boba Fett’s raging rancor is the first that Grogu has after returning from training with Luke on Ossus, and he certainly could have found a way to defeat the creature in a more aggressive way. Instead, Grogu steps in to save his beaten father by extending a gracious hand to the rancor that’s much, much larger than him, and he uses his power to ease the creature into a deep, calming sleep.

Grogu has proven he’s one of Star Wars’ most powerful Force users yet, and here are 10 times and reasons why he uses his powers in The Mandalorian.
Given the size of the rancor compared to Grogu, this is absolutely an impressive feat. There’s no telling how difficult it was for Grogu to communicate with this creature in such a way, especially with the natural fear Grogu had to have had about simply approaching it. Din Djarin was completely out of commission just behind him, having been knocked unconscious by the rancor, and Grogu sacrificed his own safety in favor of helping both his father and the rancor itself. Though Grogu’s action-based feats are even more impressive, this still ranks quite high on the list.

Completing the brief training montage of Luke and Grogu’s time together on Ossus is Grogu’s final “test” in facing off against Luke’s (previously Obi-Wan’s) training remote. The remote shoots at and flies around Grogu as he flips and leaps over stones in a stream, never once missing a beat as he evades its fire and prepares himself to go on the offensive. Once he gets the upper hand, Grogu solely uses the Force to crush the device, putting it out of commission before allowing himself to collapse in exhaustion. This prepares Grogu for a real fight later on.
The Mandalorian season 3 pays off this training by combining it with Grogu’s earliest Mandalorian combat training. When Din Djarin places him in a fight against Ragnar Vizsla, the foundling of Paz Vizsla, Grogu seems to be at a disadvantage due to his stature, his lack of armor, and his lack of Mandalorian training. Still, after being encouraged by his father to use his abilities, Grogu flips over Ragnar and ends the duel with three solid darts, much like he did with the training remote. It’s impressive to see Grogu do this, though other feats have required even more power.

After Ahsoka refuses to train Grogu due to his strong attachment to his father figure, the former Jedi apprentice of Anakin Skywalker sends the little one and his Mandalorian protector off to Tython, instructing Grogu to use the seeing stone to connect with other Jedi. Located at an ancient Jedi shrine, this stone no doubt has powers of its own and a strong connection to the Force, but Grogu imbues his own power to reach a far distance. It’s from this very stone that Grogu manages to connect to Luke from across the galaxy.
Luke Skywalker
The son of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, Luke was brought up on the desert planet Tatooine. Initially mentored by Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke fired the fateful shot that destroyed the Death Star, and he became a rebel hero. Despite the fears of Obi-Wan and Yoda, Luke’s faith in his father was proved well-founded when Vader returned to the light. With the Emperor defeated, Luke dedicated himself to bringing back the Jedi; his first attempt ended in tragedy due to Palpatine’s manipulations, but Luke’s legacy lives on in Rey.

The power of this feat is proven in the way it affects Din Djarin, who’s stuck on the outside of Grogu’s concentration field. Any time Din tries to reach in for Grogu, he’s pushed away so hard that he flies through the air – and, on one occasion, is even knocked out by the impact. This Force feat’s power is also proven by how exhausted Grogu is afterward, which hints that this may not be a common seeing stone experience for the average Force user. Only Grogu’s Force abilities in desperate times have managed to surpass this one.

Grogu’s Force feats are certainly at their peak when he’s actively saving lives, which he does on a pretty massive scale in The Mandalorian season 1 finale. The heroes are at their lowest, with Din Djarin nearly inches from death, when Gideon sends an incinerator trooper to blow flames inside the Nevarro cantina they’re using as refuge. With IG-11 still working on their escape into the tunnels and the rest left defenseless from the flames, it’s Grogu who steps up and creates a wall in the Force that keeps the flames out – and pushes them back at the trooper.

This is easily Grogu’s biggest Force feat in The Mandalorian season 1 in terms of spectacle, and there’s no doubt that it’s the reason why Din Djarin and his allies are able to survive on Nevarro. What’s even better about it is that it stems from Grogu’s concern for Din, as he does this just moments after trying to console his weakened guardian with a hand on his boot. Grogu being motivated to complete this heroic act by his growing love for his eventual adoptive father makes it one of his greatest, though three others still reign supreme.

Grogu holding back the fire isn’t his first instance of doing whatever it takes to protect Din Djarin. He’s ready to use the Force to help his guardian from the moment Din saves Grogu at the end of The Mandalorian‘s very first episode. Though Din refuses to accept Grogu’s attempts to Force heal him, an ability he won’t use again until later on, Grogu does get the chance to save the bounty hunter’s life the way Din had saved his before. He does this by using the Force to hold the aggressive mudhorn creature from closing in on the beaten-down Mandalorian.
Din Djarin
Din Djarin was once a lone bounty who has since tasked himself with raising his adopted son and Mandalorian apprentice, Grogu. Born on Aq Vetina and raised on Concordia by the Mandalorian faction the Children of the Watch, Din is an orphan and Mandalorian foundling who has risked both his life and his Mandalorian Creed to protect Grogu. Djarin has become an important part of the galaxy’s fight against the Imperial Remnant that lingers in the wake of the Empire’s fall, as he is now working under-the-table for the fledgling New Republic’s rangers.

This Force feat ranks so high because of the context that surrounds it. This is the first time Grogu uses the Force in The Mandalorian, and it’s the first time Din Djarin has ever seen someone use it, which makes it a wondrous moment. Getting details about Grogu’s past reinforces the significance of this moment, as Grogu had previously closed himself off from the Force to protect himself from those who hunted him – which means he summoned a massive amount of strength to lift a creature of this size for so long. Only two other feats have surpassed this one.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
also shows how difficult it is for a Force user to use the Force after being closed off from it for a long period of time, with Obi-Wan struggling hard to keep a young Leia suspended in the air when he rescues her from falling off a building.

Building off of Grogu’s Force wall in The Mandalorian season 1 finale is Grogu’s protective Force field that surrounds Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian season 3 finale. In the midst of Din, Bo-Katan, and Grogu fighting against Moff Gideon is the stolen light cruiser that Axe Woves crashes into Gideon’s secret base on Mandalore, which gives them a limited amount of time to complete their battle. Gideon’s impenetrable Dark Trooper armor makes it nearly impossible to fight him, but the explosion offers them an opportunity that would otherwise be impossible without Grogu.
Related The Mandalorian Season 3 Ending Explained
The Mandalorian season 3 has come to an end with an action-packed finale, complete with more than a few surprise twists and teases for the future.
The flames devour Gideon, but Grogu is able to create a Force field that shields him, Din, and Bo-Katan from the massive explosion. This act saves all three of their lives, and without it, they would all have had to die just to take Gideon out once and for all. Considering this explosion far exceeds what Grogu was previously up against on Nevarro, this Force feat is also evidence of how much Grogu’s strength in the Force has grown since The Mandalorian season 1. Only one other Force feat still has it beat.
1 Grogu Force Heals Greef Karga On Nevarro
The Mandalorian Season 1, Episode 7 “Chapter 7: The Reckoning”
Grogu has yet to beat the instance where he saves Greef Karga’s life via Force healing in The Mandalorian season 1. Though previously foreshadowed in The Mandalorian‘s second episode, Grogu doesn’t get the chance to use this particular ability on his guardian, and instead saves it for someone who is, at the time, considered an enemy. Greef Karga is about to succumb to the life-threatening poison that a creature on Nevarro infects him with until Grogu steps up and takes matters into his own hands, transferring some of his own life Force to the disgraced magistrate.
This is the first-ever instance of Force healing ever seen in Star Wars live-action, with this moment beating out Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker‘s Force healing scenes by just a single day in 2019. It’s significant because it shows how compassionate Grogu is; this selfless act by the little one gives Greef the change in heart to come clean to Din Djarin about his true plans and become an ally of the ragtag Nevarro crew. Grogu has yet to use Force healing again, though it’s very possible that Star Wars has something even more incredible for him in store.
Grogu will no doubt have some more incredible Force feats coming up in
