Hellraiser 2 takes place a century after Super-Earth’s victory over its enemies: the menacing Terminids, the grotesque Cyborgs, and the mysterious Illuminates. After the Galactic War, Super-Earth enjoyed a period of peace, leading to the disbanding of the elite Hellraiser task force. The galaxy went through a period known as the “Great Democratization,” marked by the colonization of planets using the Illuminates’ faster-than-light travel technology.

However, peace is shattered as the Terminids escape their industrial-scale farms and spread across the galaxy. Super Earth’s armed forces work to contain them, but are faced with a new threat – the mysterious Automatons, fully mechanized soldiers with a familiar yet strange logo. Forced to mobilize the Hellstalkers once again, players must fight these enemies on two fronts while Super Earth searches for a solution to the Terminid threat.
As a Hellstalker, players are tasked with a vital mission to retake the colonies of Super Earth. In the battle against freedom-hating adversaries, the game introduces dynamic narratives where players actively shape the story by completing global, time-sensitive major orders. These large-scale objectives influence the course of the game’s history, emphasizing player-driven storytelling.
The struggle for supremacy is not limited to the challenges at hand, as Hellstalkers are constantly fighting for Super-Earth. Hellraiser 2 will be given away free of charge after release
Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, Helldivers 2 is set to release on February 8th, with pre-loads currently available on PS5 and PC. While an extensive campaign is guaranteed at launch, the developer plans to introduce additional biomes, enemies, and objectives, all in the form of free updates. A post on PlayStation Blog confirmed the inclusion of a free post-launch story update.
These updates will be closely tied to Galaxies at War, allowing players to “watch events unfold through our planned free updates”. The game world is designed to “grow and change” dynamically, providing players with a “refreshed gameplay experience” that incorporates “new tools, new challenges, and new threats from across the galaxy”. This will require the introduction of new items and unlocking new content through the War Bond system.
Galactic Warfare introduces an innovative evolution of Helldivers galactic campaigns, allowing players to participate in a major command to advance the common story, or participate in a personal command to gain rewards. Opponent Terminids and Automata remain dynamic and adapt to the player’s strategy. If repelled, players may encounter completely new missions.
Given the extended timeline of the campaign, the full scope is likely to unfold gradually, so expect further updates in the coming months to explore Hellraiser 2’s evolving universe.

Helldiver 2
Helldivers II is a recent action game developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Helldivers II is the sequel to the 2015 game Helldivers, which uses a top-down perspective and is scheduled to be released on February 8, 2024, and will be available on PlayStation 5 and Windows.
The game introduces two opposing factions – the robotic automatons and the insect-like Termininds – wreaking havoc on Super Earth. This conflict marks the most serious challenge since the collective effort began more than a century ago. Each hostile group’s actions are unique, requiring unique plans and strategies to counter their threats.
Playing the role of a Hellstalker is no easy task given the enemy’s ever-expanding control over planets. The ongoing mission is to contribute to the war effort, retake planets for Super Earth and establish freedom in remote parts of the galaxy.
Players not only have to face powerful enemies, but also have to deal with the harsh environmental conditions of alien worlds, so they can use the War Table to select operations on the selected planet. Operations contain up to three missions, each with specific objectives, such as eliminating insect infestations, destroying enemy supplies, or obtaining valuable data.

Throughout the mission, tasks vary, including targeting important enemies and launching missiles at enemy bases. Vigilance with resources and information is vital, as bringing them back to the researchers on Super Earth helps the overall progress of the war effort and gradually moves closer to liberating this part of the galaxy.

Hellstalker 2 gameplay
Unlike its predecessor, which used a top-down perspective, Hellraiser 2 uses a third-person, cinematic perspective. Similar to the original game, players in Hellraiser 2 can choose “strategies” – special items that are airdropped during the game. These items include cluster bombs, sentry guns, shield generators, and supply pods with limited-use special weapons. Caution is necessary, as it is possible to inadvertently injure teammates. The game’s armor system replicates the real-life effects of weapons on armored targets.
In Hellraiser 2, cooperative play has been enhanced to include up to three additional players. Co-operative exploration of different planets and completing objectives as a team form key aspects of the gameplay. Game progression introduces an upgrade system that allows players to enhance and modify their equipment, thereby strengthening and improving their characters throughout the gaming experience.
Development and release of Hellstalkers 2
Arrowhead Game Studios revealed on December 3, 2020 that they were developing a new PlayStation 5 game, saying it was a third-person shooter where players could view their characters from behind. Then, on September 13, 2021, a leak on GeForce Now hinted at the release of Hellraiser 2, which was triggered by a video on TikTok that showed a team member at Arrowhead Game Studios working. The video revealed part of the game’s trailer, but was quickly deleted.
The official announcement of Hellraiser 2 was made on May 24, 2023, during the 2023 PlayStation Showcase, with a release date scheduled for the same year. A gameplay video was released on July 6, 2023, providing insights into the game. Speculation on July 30, 2023 suggested that the game could be released in October 2023. On the same day, the ESRB rated the game M, citing “bloody violence” and “extreme levels of violence”.
Gameplay was shown again during PlayStation’s State of Play event on September 14, 2023. During this event, a release date of February 8, 2024 was officially confirmed, with pre-orders for the game beginning on September 22, 2023.
