Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a video game released in 2011. Produced by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. The game is available for different platforms including PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and OS X. It is the sequel to “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” and the third and final installment in the original “Modern Warfare” series. In Japan, it was released by Square Enix with subtitles and dubbing.
The story continues from the end of “Modern Warfare 2”. It revolves around Task Force 141, which includes characters such as Captain Price, Thorpe MacTavish, and a new character named Yuri. Together with other special forces, they hunt down Russian terrorist leader Vladimir Makarov. He carried out multiple terrorist attacks in Europe, leading to a major war between his organization and friendly forces. The game’s multiplayer mode introduces new game types and killstreak options. It also fixes some issues from the previous game.
Development of the game began in 2010 and involved multiple development studios. Prior to this, some key members of Infinity Ward left to start a new company. Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software are also involved in the game’s production. Ahead of the full reveal, a trailer was released to drum up excitement.

Modern Combat 3 gameplay
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a first-person shooter video game in which players take on different roles in the story. The game’s story is divided into three parts called “Acts”, each with different missions. Players see their goals on the screen, such as reaching a certain point or defeating an enemy. If the player takes no damage, their health will regenerate over time. Missions range from reaching checkpoints to facing enemy groups.
There’s a new mode called “Survival,” in which one or two players fight waves of enemies that get more difficult each time. It differs from previous modes in that enemies appear based on the player’s position rather than fixed locations. Players can earn in-game cash for items such as weapons, upgrades, and support, and can unlock more items through experience gained from defeating enemies. Another mode, Special Ops, returns from the previous game with different challenging missions.
In multiplayer, the killstreak system has been changed to a points system, where players can earn points for a variety of actions, not just kills. These points lead to three categories of bonuses: Attack, Support, and Expertise. The game also introduces a new ranking and unlocking system without the use of currency. Players’ primary weapons will be upgraded accordingly, unlocking perks such as attachments and recoil reduction. There is also an option to use a “hybrid scope” on the weapon, allowing players to switch between magnified and regular views.
The game features new modes such as Kill Confirmed, where players collect enemy tags to earn points, and Team Defense, where teams fight for a flag. Private matches have pre-made modes such as “Infection” and “Shootout”. Additionally, players can create their own game modes. Special Ops mode includes a wave-based game called Survival, where players can fend off waves of enemies, earning support options and unlockable money. The game also had an online service called Call of Duty: Elite for multiplayer features and statistics, but it was eventually shut down. Downloadable content provides additional maps and missions for players to enjoy.

After the events of the previous game, Soap and Price were brought to safety, but Makarov’s forces attacked them. Nikolai contacted Yuri, a former soldier who hated Makarov. In New York, Delta Force helped fend off an invasion and destroyed a submarine, forcing the Russians to retreat.
A few months later, Russian President Volshevsky’s plane crashed and he was captured by Makarov. Makarov threatened to harm his daughter if Volshevsky did not hand over the nuclear codes. Chemical bombs were sent to NATO cities, causing chaos.
Task Force 141 learned that a warlord and a man named Walker were involved. They capture Volker, who reveals Makarov’s plans in Paris. During a meeting in Prague, Makarov killed Kamalov and wounded Thorpe. Soap later died, revealing Yuri’s connection to Makarov.
Price learns that Yuri was injured while trying to prevent a massacre. They infiltrate Makarov’s base and discover that he plans to kidnap President Vorshevsky’s daughter. Metal and Task Force 141 rescued her, but Metal sacrificed himself.
Three months later, Price and Yuri found Makarov in Dubai. They confronted Yuri, and after a fierce battle, Yuri was killed. Price successfully defeated Makarov, ending the threat.
