Baldur’s Gate 3’s Lower City is filled with interesting characters and locations, but none of them are as mysterious as the mysterious carrion of Fairgrave Mansion. After speaking with the mysterious Carrion on this site, we discovered the disappearance of his assistant Trumbo. He tasks you with finding and bringing back Thrumbo.
Starting this quest via Carrion can be started in two different ways. The initial method is to go to the mansion and talk to the mystic in Act Three. After some banter, he gives you a chance to prove your abilities. Alternatively, you can start this quest at the same time as the Free the Artist quest, which requires you to help Oscar Feflas and Ms. Janus. No matter which path you choose, the prerequisites remain: before you can successfully complete either mission, you must find the mysterious carrion of Thrumbo.

Fortunately, Thrumbo is conveniently located not far from his former employer’s offices. Although Mysterious Carrion recommends contacting Thrumbo’s fellow escaped zombies for information, this is not a mandatory step to find him and progress the mission. Trumbo is located in a compact residence directly east of Fairgrave Mansion, as shown in the attached screenshot.

Trumbo’s presence can be seen in a closet inside the modest home, clearly marked on the map. After opening the closet, Thrumbo appears and can be talked to.
At this point, you have a few options to consider. You can force Thrumbo to accompany you back to Mystic Carrion, or you can listen to him tell the story of the death of his former master. No matter what you decide, progress will be made on Baldur’s Gate 3’s quest for the mysterious carrion and Oscar.
