They can choose to sail alone in the Indian Ocean for a single-player adventure, or team up with up to five other players to engage in player-versus-player combat in disputed waters.

In combat, players can use wind direction to gain the upper hand. Throughout the game, players gain access to different ships, including sloops, frigates, and brigs, each equipped with weapons such as mortars, broadsides, and rockets. Players can ram and board ships with force, and damage is assessed via a health bar.
