“Modern Warfare III plays very similarly to its predecessor and other Call of Duty games. It reintroduces features like swipe to cancel. The campaign offers both linear missions and “Open Combat Missions” that allow players more freedom in tackling objectives.

In multiplayer, Modern Warfare 2 will include all 16 maps at launch. Players can vote on maps in the lobby, and will have slightly higher health and a longer time to kill. The “Red Dot” minimap returns, and players can spot enemies on the radar when shooting without a silencer. The classic modes “Kill Confirmed” and “Hardpoint” will return, along with a new mode called “Severed Throat”. Ground War and War Mode will also return. The game will also use artificial intelligence to monitor and report bad behavior.

The game will also feature a new open-world PvE Zombies mode. Developed by Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games, the mode is a departure from the old turn-based survival mode.
