From the Ancient Spire of Revellwood, head west until you find a large hole in a mountain – that’s your mineshaft. Inside, face off against scavengers and wolves. Eliminate them from a distance, then get closer. Explore the cave, climb the stairs, and enter the largest opening on the left. Keep going until you find a chest containing a wizard’s treasure chest. Nearby, use your pickaxe to smash through a pile of rubble to reveal a glowing furnace.
Obtaining a Furnace unlocks the Furnace recipe. Build a Furnace at your base for your Blacksmith to craft advanced metal materials. This piece of equipment is a major upgrade, so get the Furnace early to make your traversal of Embervale smoother. That’s the secret to finding the Furnace in Enshrouded.

Stealthy Gameplay
Enshrouded’s gameplay revolves around survival and exploration in the vast open world of Embervale from a third-person perspective. Up to 16 players can join forces in this action-packed role-playing adventure. Players build bases, gather resources, and craft equipment in the surface world. The game introduces “Shrouds,” mysterious fog-covered areas filled with hostile monsters, where players risk their lives in search of valuable loot and treasure chests.
To thrive, players must manage hunger and thirst, which affect combat effectiveness. Drinking water increases stamina, while food increases constitution. Combat involves using a variety of weapons, dodging, and blocking hostile attacks. As players progress, they unlock new talents and specialize in classes such as Trickster, Battlemage, or Survivor. Gliders and grappling hooks help traverse the game world.

Crafted by the talented team at Keen Games, the German studio best known for Portal Knights, Enshrouded is inspired by beloved games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Valheim, blending exploration and survival.
While the combat is influenced by the challenging “Soulsborne” game, it is intentionally designed to be more accessible, making it an enjoyable experience for players new to the survival game genre. The game was officially announced in May 2023, and an exciting 8-hour demo was shared during Steam Next Fest in November 2023.
Enshrouded will be released in Early Access on Steam on January 24, 2024, allowing players to experience the game before the full version is released. Excitingly, the development team is actively developing PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions to expand the accessibility of the game on various gaming platforms and allow a wider audience to play it.
