Christian crusaders led by spies such as Komutan Vasilus and Ustad Gera infiltrated the palace of Kay. Balahadun, who was recovering, helped defend Saugut from the Crusaders.

Jakup Bey’s authority was called into question after Osman and Malhoun rescued their captured son from the Crusaders. Orhan’s proposal to Holofera caused tension with Malhoun, and Aladdin confessed his love to Gonkar Hatton. The Mongolian Komutan Karaselasun attacked Ukhbazar and encountered resistance led by Bala, Malhun, Orhan and Aladdin.

As Yakup Bey fended off the Mongols, Ottoman distrust of them grew. Aladdin seeks a cure for the Mongol poison, while Osman is injured trying to protect Yakup Bey.
