The film is loosely based on the 2012 arrests of Robin Ramirez, Amico Fantine and Marilyn Johnson by Phoenix police. The film describes police discovering more than $25 million worth of fake coupons at Ramirez’s home and seizing more than $20,000 in assets.
Is Queenpins based on a true story?
Yes, Queenpins is based on the true story of a coupon scam that allowed three Arizona women to make millions of dollars by selling fake coupons.

What happened to the real-life queen?
Police are said to have seized $40 million worth of fake coupons and $2 million worth of guns, cash, vehicles, speedboats and other assets. The three women face charges including fraud, forgery, forgery and operating a criminal enterprise.
