League of Legends 14.3 Patch Notes
pioneer
Previously mentioned in the 14.2 notes, we would be introducing Vanguard, Riot’s proprietary anti-cheat software that will be required for all League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics games. However, due to some serious bugs with the client popups we had planned for 14.2 that caused us to delay it by one patch cycle, this change has been rescheduled. Therefore, starting with patch 14.3, we will run a diagnostic check to see if your computer is ready for this update. If not, please check out our troubleshooting guide or contact Player Support. This change also means that we are delaying the release of Vanguard from 14.4 to 14.5 to give players enough time to prepare for this change by installing Vanguard.
If you fail the check initially, it will be rerun later, or you can rerun it manually by clicking the settings icon in the upper right corner and clicking “Check compatibility” under General > Vanguard System Checks.

This does not mean that Vanguards are activated or available in League of Legends, it is just to give players enough time to prepare before Vanguards become a necessity. For more information, check out our support article on Vanguards.
Windows Minimum Specifications Update
Starting Wednesday, February 21st (Patch 14.4), we will be updating the minimum system requirements to no longer support Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 for all League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics games. In order to maintain game stability and performance, we sometimes need to drop support for older operating systems that are not widely used by players. If you are still playing on these versions of Windows, please consider updating to continue playing. Please see our minimum spec support page for more details.

League of Legends gameplay
In League of Legends, players control powerful “champion” characters in fierce battles on a large map called Summoner’s Rift, where two teams of five players each compete to destroy the other team’s main structure, the Nexus.
Each hero has unique abilities that can be used to fight and help teammates. As the game progresses, the hero will become stronger by gaining experience points and collecting coins. Coins can be used to purchase items to make the hero more powerful.
Players work together to advance toward the enemy base along three different paths, called “routes.” Along the way, they must defeat defensive structures called “turrets” and enemy minions. Minions are small soldiers that help each team by attacking the enemy and defending their own base.
To win, players must coordinate their efforts, strategize, and outwit the opposing team. Matches can last anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour, depending on how the game progresses.

League of Legends Plot
In League of Legends, the story revolves around the fictional Runeterra, a diverse world filled with unique heroes and rich lore. Previously, players took on the role of a powerful summoner, commanding heroes to fight in the Fields of Justice to prevent a catastrophic war. However, in 2014, Riot Games rebooted the game’s narrative and removed the summoner to avoid creative stagnation.
Now, warriors from different regions of Runeterra gather together for various reasons, fighting for personal goals, honor, or to defend their homes. Each warrior has his own background story, motivations, and connection to the world around him. The world of Runeterra is full of political intrigue, ancient mysteries, and conflicts between different factions.
Although there are no summoners in the current lore, heroes still clash fiercely on Summoner’s Rift and other battlefields. The game’s storyline continues to evolve through the release of new heroes, in-game events, and external media such as comic books and animated series such as Arcane.
Overall, while League of Legends focuses primarily on gameplay, the rich lore and evolving plot provide depth and context for the heroes and their battles, making the world of Runeterra a vibrant and engaging environment for players to explore and immerse themselves in.
