10 Daredevil: Born Again’s Confirmed Villain
Besides Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, D23 Revealed Daredevil’s Antagonist
Close
Daredevil: Born Again‘s MCU story is undoubtedly one of the more anticipated of the coming years, meaning the behind-closed-doors trailer for the show may have come as a frustration for many. However, Screen Rant can offer an insight into the trailer for Daredevil: Born Again, which showed the Marvel Comics character of Muse as part of the show’s story. Muse is a villain from the source material, one who was often shown to clash with Matt Murdock’s hellish alter-ego.
In the comics, Muse has the power of imperceptibility, making him an incredibly compelling villain for Daredevil to go up against as even the latter’s enhanced senses have trouble tracking Muse. Muse is most known for his involvement in the storyline involving Fisk’s run for mayor, confirmed to be a plot point for Daredevil: Born Again, where he begins vandalizing New York landmarks with vigilante murals. Fisk uses this to push his anti-vigilante agenda, with Daredevil: Born Again‘s footage of Muse from D23 confirming this will be adapted in the MCU show.
Daredevil: Born Again
After Charlie Cox’s cameo appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home and supporting role in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Daredevil: Born Again gives Matt Murdock his first show set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Daredevil: Born Again, composed of 18 episodes, serves as the spiritual successor to Netflix’s three-season Daredevil series and adapts its characters to the MCU’s main continuity while establishing a new beginning for the superhero lawyer.

9 Daredevil: Born Again Will Include A Ms. Marvel Crossover
A Surprising Marvel Cameo Will Take Place In Daredevil: Born Again
Another of the more shocking elements found in the D23 footage of Daredevil: Born Again was a crossover with Ms. Marvel. To an extent, this crossover makes sense given Daredevil takes place primarily in Hell’s Kitchen, with Ms. Marvel taking place just across the river in Jersey City. In the footage for the show, Matt Murdock is shown protecting Yusuf Khan, Ms. Marvel’s father. Yusuf asks Matt what kind of lawyer he is, to which Matt replies “A really good one,” calling back to his cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The first official looks at Punisher, Karen, and Foggy were also detailed in the D23 Daredevil footage, with a March 2025 release date being confirmed.
Concerning how this crossover could work, it stands to reason that Yusuf may work in New York City. As alluded to, New York City and Jersey City are not far from one another, meaning it is not entirely out of the question for Matt and Yusuf to cross paths. This is simply a neat way to connect to disparate MCU projects and raises anticipation for a proper Daredevil and Ms. Marvel crossover in the future.

8 Red Hulk’s Full Reveal In Captain America: Brave New World
Harrison Ford As Red Hulk Was Unveiled At D23
Close
While Red Hulk was teased in the first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World, the shot of the villain was from behind. This led many to wonder how the face of Red Hulk would look, and whether the giant red rage monster would bear any resemblance to Harrison Ford. At D23, a trailer comprised of some new footage from Captain America 4 was revealed, showing a transformation from Thunderbolt Ross into Red Hulk in full view of the camera.
Ross is shown conducting a speech outside of the White House before doubling over and disappearing behind a podium. When Ross rises again, he is the Red Hulk. From the footage shown at D23, it is confirmed that Red Hulk looks like Harrison Ford, drawing comparisons to Smart Hulk and how he looks like Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. When this footage will be released to the public remains to be seen, but at least those in attendance got to see more of the MCU’s Red Hulk.

7 Agatha All Along’s Official Trailer
The Second Trailer For Agatha Harkness’ Solo Adventure Was Released
The first teaser trailer for Agatha All Along was released at the beginning of July, with D23 allowing Marvel to release yet another. This trailer was shown to those in attendance at the convention, while also being released online ahead of the series’ September 18 release date. In this trailer, much more about the story of the show was revealed, stemming from the premise of Agatha walking the Witches Road after being released from the spell she was placed under by the Scarlet Witch in WandaVision‘s ending.
The official trailer for Agatha All Along revealed that walking the Witches Road results in someone being granted whatever they want, with Agatha wanting her magic back after Wanda took it from her. The trailer also offered more of a look at Aubrey Plaza’s mysterious character in the show, while detailing the Halloween-inspired, spooky action sequences and set pieces that will take place across the nine episodes. The show, despite being one that was not at the top of most Marvel fans’ wishlists, looks promising and will fill a Halloween-shaped void in the MCU’s library.

6 Official Costumes For The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm Was Seen In Full Fantastic Four Gear
Custom Image by Kai Young
The showcase for The Fantastic Four: First Steps at D23 was not much different from what was shown at SDCC 2024, given that the film only began shooting a day after the latter convention. However, one notable difference in the former convention was a video of the four main cast members of The Fantastic Four on set, with Joseph Quinn catching the eye. The actor responsible for playing Johnny Storm/The Human Torch was shown in full costume, offering a first look at the retrofuturistic, 60s-inspired suits the titular team will wear in the 2025 film.
The costume is complete with a giant “4” symbol in the center of the chest…
The suit perfectly captures the Golden Age vibe the film is striving toward. The costume is a blue and white jumpsuit that looks fairly thick and not like a typical superhero costume, again evoking the 1960s feel of the film. The white stretches across the neck and top of the shoulders and runs down the outside of the arms into white gloves, while the blue coats the inside of the arms and cuts off at the top of Quinn’s chest. The costume is complete with a giant “4” symbol in the center of the chest.

5 Michael Giacchino’s Theme For The Fantastic Four: First Steps
The Musical Score Links To The Retrofuturism Of The Film
Ironically, one of the bigger reveals for The Fantastic Four: First Steps did not come in Disney’s giant Entertainment Showcase panel. Instead, it came earlier in the day when Michael Giacchino and several other musical minds appeared at the Music of Marvel Studios panel. After talking about his past scoring MCU projects like the Spider-Man trilogy and Doctor Strange, Giacchino promised those in attendance a special look at the score he is composing for The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
The Fantastic Four (2025)
Marvel’s Fantastic Four is the first MCU movie to feature Marvel’s First Family in the same live-action universe as the Avengers. 4 Ironheart’s New Armor
Riri Williams Has More Iron Man-Like Armor
Close
The first trailer for Ironheart was shown to the crowd at D23’s Entertainment Showcase panel. The trailer offers first looks at several elements of the show, from Riri Williams’ life after her brief stint in Wakanda to Anthony Ramos’ Red Hood villain. However, the biggest reveal from the footage was the suit of armor Ironheart will be wearing in the show, which is much different from the futuristic, highly advanced vibranium suit she wore in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Riri was removed from MIT due to her unsanctioned excursion to Wakanda in Black Panther 2.
The suit looks much more like that of Iron Man’s. The mask is very similar in that it snaps down and has an almost identical visage to Tony Stark’s Iron Man armor. Although the suit still holds the bulkier, thicker size of the Ironheart armor in Wakanda Forever, the inspirations of Iron Man are much more prevalent, further solidifying Riri Williams as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Iron Man replacement.
Ironheart
Set after Dominique Thorne’s MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel Studios’ Ironheart series follows Riri Williams as she follows in Iron Man’s steps as a high-tech superhero and crosses paths with Anthony Ramos’ Parker Robbins a.k.a. The Hood, a magic user with ties to the dark arts. The six-episode Disney+ series is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5.

3 Eyes Of Wakanda Could Introduce Iron Fist
A Missing MCU Hero Could Appear
Aside from the live-action MCU announcements found at D23, there were also several reveals about Marvel’s upcoming animation shows at a dedicated panel. One of the shows that was focused on was the MCU’s first Black Panther spin-off, Eyes of Wakanda. Ryan Coogler and other creators took to the stage at D23 to give a tease at what audiences can expect from the animated project, indicating that it will explore what Wakandans have been doing throughout history, and how this will tie to other events in the MCU’s past.
Iron Fist has been absent from the MCU since 2018’s Iron Fist season 2 on Netflix.
One interesting tidbit was that Wakanda’s quest for secrecy brought them into contact with other hidden cities on Earth. One of these hidden cities was listed as having a protector whose title and name come from a glowing fist. Naturally, this can be none other than Iron Fist, the sworn protector of the hidden city of K’un-Lun. Eyes of Wakanda could see the titular country form an alliance with other hidden cities, one being K’un-Lun which can only be accessed once every decade by those aware of the city, spearheaded by a past version of Iron Fist in the MCU.

Marvel’s What If…? Spin-Off Will Be A Mature Story
Close
Since its announcement, Marvel Zombies has not received much hype. However, D23’s reveals could change this. Apart from the intriguing line-up of characters, one of the more exciting reveals about Marvel Zombies is that it will be TV-MA. This mature rating is reserved for the more bloody, gruesome, and violent stories on Disney+ like Echo and Daredevil. This mature story will be told across four episodes, with the spin-off of What If…? season 1, episode 5 seemingly being contained to a tight, well-planned-out plot.
1 Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Includes Several Classic Heroes & Villains
The MCU’s First Spider-Man Animated Spider-Man Show Has Plenty Of Familiar Faces
Close
The final big announcement from D23 came in the form of the MCU’s upcoming animated Spider-Man show, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. A lot about the show has been revealed in concept art and other tidbits since its announcement, but the Marvel Animation panel at D23 offered a more in-depth look than has been provided thus far.
The main takeaway from the D23 reveals is how Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will be chock-full of familiar Marvel faces. Both heroes and villains alike from the MCU and Marvel Comics will appear in the show, from Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Daredevil to Norman Osborn, Doctor Octopus, and symbiotes. This gives the show a number of possibilities for storylines, with the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man timeline seemingly coming in the form of animation.
