Obi-Wan Kenobi has been at the center of many impressive lightsaber duels throughout the Star Wars franchise, but some stand out more than others. In the original trilogy, Obi-Wan is the wise old master who introduces Luke Skywalker to the world of the Jedi, and begins by gifting Luke with his father’s old weapon. Luke spends the majority of his journey to Alderaan training with his new lightsaber under Obi-Wan’s guidance.
Luke didn’t know it at the time, but Obi-Wan was an incredibly talented warrior during his time as a Jedi Knight. When the films were expanded to include the prequel trilogy, they revealed that Obi-Wan had been an exemplary Jedi in almost every category. 10 Obi-Wan vs Darth Vader
The Master meets his student again

When Luke and the others sneak aboard the Death Star to rescue Princess Leia, Obi-Wan immediately senses the presence of Darth Vader. To buy the young heroes time, Obi-Wan engages Vader in a one-on-one duel. The choreography of this lightsaber duel leaves a little to be desired, but the drama behind the situation enhances the scene. It’s by far the least impressive display of combat skills from either of the two powerful Force users, but as the first lightsaber duel seen on screen, it makes its point quite effectively.

When Anakin is vulnerable without the guidance of his unwitting master, Palpatine tempts him into executing Count Dooku. This act of cold-blooded violence further opens the door to Anakin’s fight against the dark side and sets him up to become Palpatine’s new apprentice soon after.

He simply outclassed Obi-Wan and Anakin, incapacitating Obi-Wan and dismembering Anakin with relative ease. Still, it’s a fun battle to watch, and thankfully, Yoda comes to the rescue before Dooku can finish off the two heroes.

After the apparent death of Darth Maul at the hands of Obi-Wan, his reappearance in Star Wars: The Clone Wars It was quite a surprise. Being cut in half was no match for the rage that kept Maul alive, and that rage was always directed at Obi-Wan Kenobi. Their feud lasts until the end, culminating in a brief duel on Star Wars Rebels.
Though it’s a short fight compared to most of Obi-Wan’s other battles, it carries a lot of weight for the characters. Obi-Wan knocks Maul down with a single blow, and his nemesis dies in his arms. Maul then asks if Luke is the one to finally defeat the Sith, and Obi-Wan is able to reassure him of that.

General Grievous is no stranger to fighting Jedi. The robotic general collects the weapons of his defeated enemies and can wield four of them at once. Obi-Wan Kenobi is the man who has trusted him to track down Grievous and eliminate him, which speaks highly of his combat skills. Obi-Wan’s mission is crucial to the Jedi’s success in the Clone Wars, and he gives it everything he’s got. Luckily, he’s exactly the warrior the Jedi Council believes him to be.
Using his own lightsaber, Obi-Wan slowly dismembers Grievous until the playing field is a little more even. Though Obi-Wan ends the fight with a blaster to Grievous’ heart, the two foes put on quite the interesting combat sequence. Grievous’ many arms spin his four lightsabers at a ferocious speed, causing sparks to fly in the midst of their combat.
3. Avenging Anakin in Obi-Wan Kenobi

The result is a thrilling and heartbreaking scene that shows Vader at his best.
Obi-Wan and Vader exchange their acknowledgements of what happened to Anakin, and Obi-Wan is finally able to reconnect with the Force in a way he hasn’t been able to in nearly 10 years. Though he can neither save his friend nor kill him, Obi-Wan accepts Vader’s existence. This is what leads him to refer to his old friend as “Darth,” as he does for the first time in A new hope.

Obi-Wan has always been better at accepting reality than Anakin. As Obi-Wan leaps into the lava bank, he begs Anakin not to follow, knowing his former student would be at a disadvantage. Qui-Gon Jinn and his then-apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi lead the way during the Naboo Crisis that sets off the chain of events that leads to the Clone Wars. When Darth Maul shows up for the fight, the two Jedi take it upon themselves to pursue the Sith apprentice. The fight takes them to a remote area of the Naboo palace, where Maul reveals the deadly second blade of his lightsaber.
The force fields keep the pace of the fight from becoming overwhelming, but they also separate Obi-Wan from his master. When Qui-Gon is struck down, Obi-Wan is disheartened and breaks through the force fields to take control of the fight. By the end, Obi-Wan has fallen into a reactor shaft with Maul standing over him. At the last second, Obi-Wan uses the Force to propel himself upward, taking Maul by surprise and cutting him in half. Qui-Gon Jinn’s Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, became a Jedi Knight after the death of his master. Obi-Wan trained Anakin Skywalker as a Jedi, and his own apprentice was knighted after the Battle of Geonosis. The Jedi Master became a key player in the Jedi during the Clone Wars, and was heartbroken when Anakin turned to the dark side; Obi-Wan severely wounded Anakin before turning to the shadows, caring for young Luke and Leia for years.
