Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland Patch Notes

As the snow begins to fall this holiday season, the competition is heating up in Overwatch® 2! Winter Wonderland is back with your favorite winter-themed event modes, fun new cosmetic rewards, and cool ways to earn rewards while exploring the Winter Fair!

Relax at the playground

Winter Wonderland brings fun ways to play Overwatch 2 this holiday season, including the return of four of the most popular event modes! If this is your first time playing a holiday game, read on to learn how to play these cool game modes in the arcade.

Tactical elimination and silly strategies await you in May’s Snowball Offensive. Equipped with snowballs that can knock out opponents with one hit, you’ll need to protect yourself with ice walls and freezes to avoid being eliminated. If you miss, find fresh snow to vacuum and reload. Continue the icy madness as you fire off your ultimate and shoot out several snowballs in rapid succession. Play with a team in 5v5 elimination rules, or prove yourself a solo snowball master in Melee Deathmatch.

Play our unique 5v1 PVP brawling game “Yeti Hunt” and continue your pursuit of the carnivorous Yeti. One player will take on the role of the Yeti (Winston), searching for meat scattered across the map, and then descending into primal madness, leaving your opponents scrambling for cover while a team of five Americans attempt to freeze, trap and destroy the Yeti. . snowman.

Finally, chill out with “Freeze-Flash Elimination,” a chilled-out version of “Freeze Mark.” In this 5v5 elimination game mode, heroes are not eliminated after losing all their health; instead, they are frozen solid. Their teammates will be responsible for unfreezing them rather than being frozen themselves. The team that can completely freeze its opponent wins, and the first to reach three rounds wins.

Play May’s Snowball Offensive, Snowman Hunt, and Frozen Lightning Crush to complete challenges and earn bonus XP for the Season 8 Battle Pass. As you play, you’ll progress through the Winter Fair too!

New holiday rewards at the Winter Market are waiting for you

This season, we’re introducing the Winter Fair Event Pass—a new way to unlock holiday-themed rewards. When you play Overwatch 2, you’ll earn tickets to spend at the Winter Fair and unlock rewards of your choice. Tickets are earned for every nine games played and the number of wins is doubled.

Play on the free track and earn enough tickets to redeem a free legendary skin of your choice. Choose from the stylish formal legendary skins of Cassidy or Baptiste or the warm and cozy Winter Jammies Illari legendary skins.

If you want more, use 500 Overwatch Gold to upgrade to the premium track to receive bonus tickets and the ability to unlock up to three additional legendary skins and other cosmetics. Unlock new items like the legendary wrapping paper Reinhardt, or pick up the legendary Kerrigan Widowmaker skin inspired by StarCraft® heroes.

Make sure to use the tickets you earned before these limited-time cosmetics disappear! You can use your tickets to purchase items from the Winter Fair one week after the Winter Wonderland event. After January 15th, any remaining unused tickets will be converted into Overwatch Points, which you can use to purchase classic Overwatch cosmetics available in the Hero Gallery.

Overwatch 2

“Overwatch 2” is a first-person shooter developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. It is a sequel to the original Overwatch and is designed to enhance the player experience. The game was released in early access on October 4, 2022, and officially released on August 10, 2023, and is available on multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Windows, and Xbox. Unlike its predecessor, Overwatch 2 adopts a free-to-play model, which means players do not have to pay to play the game.

Blizzard has made significant changes to the gameplay, reducing team sizes from six to five players in an effort to make matches more dynamic and fast-paced. The introduction of new maps, redesigned characters, and a focus on player-versus-player (PvP) combat remain at the core of the game’s design. In addition, the game also supports cross-platform battles, so players with different devices can fight together.

“Overwatch 2” gameplay

Overwatch 2 maintains its identity as a hero shooter, with players choosing characters called “heroes” from a diverse roster. The heroes are divided into damage, support, and tank classes, each with unique abilities that aid in offensive, healing, or defensive strategies. The game features player-versus-player (PvP) combat in a variety of modes and maps, suitable for both casual and ranked competitive play.

Notable changes include reducing team sizes to five players and adjusting hero abilities to increase game speed. Variety is added with the introduction of a new PvP mode called “Push”, where teams can compete for control of bots to push payloads around the map.

The game also features a free-to-play model, eliminating loot boxes in favor of a seasonal battle pass system. Overwatch 2 features cross-progression, allowing players to share cosmetic items and progress across different platforms. Additionally, the addition of story-based PvE missions and Hero Mastery missions provide players with engaging narrative content and the opportunity to improve specific hero skills.
