These companions can be battled, captured, and used in a variety of tasks such as base building and combat. Palworld has become popular for its engaging gameplay with its unique combination of survival, humor, and exploration, even earning the amusing title of “Pokémon with guns.”

The game was released for Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in January 2024, allowing for single-player and online play, with up to 32 players on a single server. Although Palworld was widely praised for its gameplay and content, it received some criticism for its use of shocking humor and somewhat familiar designs.

Despite this, the game quickly became a hit, selling 8 million copies in the first six days of Early Access and reaching over 2 million concurrent players on Steam. Developed by Pocket Pair, the game was inspired by games like The Legend of Zelda and Ark: Survival Evolved, promising a unique and fun experience.

Major fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where the game would crash in certain situations
  • Fixed being able to use the Sphere to capture another player’s Companion/Base Companion if their health was below 30%.
  • Fixed an issue where enemy teammates could get stuck in walls due to charge attacks.
  • Implemented the first fix, which addresses an issue where the game would always crash and save data would become corrupted when the total number of companions captured by the guild reached about 7000.
    • The game will no longer crash even when the total number of captured objects exceeds 7000. However, save data (for servers, that is, the server’s world data) that was already in this state before this update will still fail to load. We are continuing to work on a permanent fix for this issue.

Further improvements, such as support for interaction key configuration, are currently being planned.

  • Fixed an issue where the Capture ability enhanced by Lifmunk Effigies would be reset when using a memory reset drug.
