Persona 5 Tactica provides players with a single ending, unlike the original Persona 5, which had multiple endings based on the choices the player made throughout the game. As players progress through the story and overcome challenges, they will experience a unique and emotionally impactful ending that ends the journey in a simple way. Overall, the game’s narrative aims to provide a coherent and strong conclusion rather than branching into multiple endings.

During combat, you can choose to hide to reduce damage, or block attacks entirely. If you knock down an enemy without cover, you’ll get an extra turn.
By surrounding enemies in a triangle with your team, you can unleash a super-powerful attack called the “Triple Threat” that hits all enemies in the area. Development of Persona 5 Tactics
“Persona 5 Tactica” was released at the Xbox Game Showcase in June 2023, marking Atlus’ entry into the tactical RPG field of the “Persona” series. Famitsu’s weekly interviews provide insight into the game’s conception and development, with director Naoya Maeda, producer Kazuhisa Wada, and commercial producer Atsushi Nomura all revealing the creative process.
Wada highlighted the game’s potential to expand the scope of the Persona series, aiming to present a fresh narrative featuring Persona 5 characters. Maeda emphasized that the game is easy to pick up for those new to strategy RPGs, simplifying understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of allies and enemies.
A collaboration between composer Toshiki Konishi from the Atlus sound team and Persona 5 vocalist Lyn Inaizumi brings new musical themes to the game. The decision to make Persona 5 Tactica stemmed from Atlus’ desire to explore a tactics-based game within the Persona universe. Nomura and others felt that Phantom Thieves’ unique qualities, such as stealth and observation, fit perfectly with the tactical genre.
During the development process, preliminary experiments were conducted with character models from Persona Q2: Labyrinth the New Cinema. However, character designer Hanako Oribe ultimately chose an art style that maintained the original proportions of the characters while emphasizing specific features, giving the game a comic book-like visual style. While early prototypes drew inspiration from the Persona Q games, the team refined the art direction to highlight the character’s unique aspects and align them with tactical gameplay.
