Pokemon Go Adventure Week Quests, Research Tasks, Rewards and more

Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go, or Pokémon GO for short, is an augmented reality (AR) mobile game released in 2016. Developed and published by Niantic in partnership with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, it is available for iOS and Android devices. The game leverages GPS technology on mobile devices to allow players to discover, capture, train and battle virtual creatures called Pokémon that appear to exist in the real world.

The game follows a freemium business model, offering in-app purchases for additional in-game items while generating revenue through native advertising. It launches with about 150 Pokémon species and will expand to about 700 species in 2021.

Pokémon Go received mixed reviews upon release. While critics praised the innovative concept, they also pointed out technical issues. Despite the criticism, the game quickly became one of the most popular and profitable mobile apps of 2016, with over 500 million downloads worldwide by the end of the year.

It is credited with popularizing location-based technology and AR technology, encouraging physical activity as players explore their surroundings in search of Pokémon, and boosting local businesses by increasing foot traffic.

However, the game has also faced controversy. Reports of accidents and public nuisances related to player distractions have raised concerns. Some governments have expressed safety concerns, leading to regulations on their use.

Despite the controversy, Pokémon Go had more than 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018 and had been downloaded more than 1 billion times worldwide by early 2019. The game has been a significant financial success, with total revenue exceeding $6 billion in 2020.

This means that at a designated time on Monday, walk progress and rewards accumulated over the previous seven days will be finalized and made available to players.

Adventure sync:

Adventure Sync is a feature in Pokémon Go that tracks how far players travel in the real world, even when the app isn’t actively open. It syncs with health and fitness data on players’ mobile devices to record distance traveled.

Walking rewards:

As players walk and accumulate distance, they can earn walking rewards through Adventure Sync. These rewards often include items like Poké Balls, Berries, Stardust, and even Pokémon Encounters.

Weekly reset:

Adventure Sync walking rewards reset weekly. The weekly cycle begins at 9 a.m. local time on Monday and ends at the same time on the following Monday.

Unlock:

Players will receive unlocks for the past seven days of walking progress before the weekly reset time (Monday at 9am). This means that all distances completed and rewards earned during the last week will be distributed to players’ accounts at this reset time.

New week:

After a reset, the walk progress and reward counters will reset to zero, marking the start of a new week. Players can then continue walking to accumulate distance and earn new rewards in the new week until the next reset.
