Poppy Playtime is a horror video game made by Mob Entertainment, a small independent game developer. The game is divided into different parts, called chapters, and each chapter tells a horror story. As the player, you become someone who used to work at Playtime Co., a toy manufacturing company. The twist in the story is that the toy factory is abandoned and everyone who worked there ten years ago has mysteriously disappeared.

Played in first-person perspective, you’ll explore the spooky toy factory and unravel its secrets. To progress, you’ll need to solve puzzles and sometimes a special tool called a GrabPack. The first chapter of the game was released on Microsoft Steam for Windows on October 12, 2021, and later on Android and iOS on March 11, 2022. It was released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on December 20, 2023, and on Nintendo Switch on December 25 of the same year. Chapter 2 was released on Windows on May 5, and later on iOS and Android on August 15. Chapter 3 was released on January 30, 2024. The developers plan to release all chapters after the first chapter as downloadable content.

While the game initially received praise for its exciting gameplay, Chapter 2 was criticized for various bugs. The developers also received backlash for introducing non-fungible tokens (NFTs) associated with the game, which caused some dissatisfaction in the gaming community.

Poppy Playtime is a horror video game where you play as an employee of the toy company Playtime Co. You receive a letter and decide to go back to the old toy factory that everyone thought was empty for 10 years. But surprise! The factory is not empty at all – it is full of living, not-so-friendly toys. Your goal is to find a way to get out of there.

As you explore, you’ll find VHS tapes scattered around the factory. Each tape tells a story, adding depth to the mystery.

The game is filled with puzzles that you need to solve in order to move forward. Some puzzles require a special tool called a GrabPack, which is a backpack with two retractable hands.
