Royal Blood is a rock band from the UK, formed in 2011. The band members include vocalist/bassist/pianist Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher. Their music is known for its unique sound, Kerr uses effects pedals and amplifiers to make the bass sound like both electric guitar and bass.

The band’s journey began with Kerr and Thatcher, who met as teenagers and formed a trio with guitarist Joe Dennis. After Dennis left, Kerr and Thatcher continued as a duo, perfecting their sound at Brighton Electric Studios and eventually signing with Warner Music. Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders caught people’s attention when he wore a Royal Blood shirt during a performance at Glastonbury Festival.
In 2013, Royal Blood released their first single, “Out of the Black,” followed by their self-titled debut album in 2014, which became the fastest-selling UK rock debut in three years. They toured extensively, played major festivals, and played support for bands such as Foo Fighters.
In 2017, the band released their second album, How Did We Get So Dark?, which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and continued to grow. In 2021, they released their third album, Typhoons, which included tracks such as “Trouble’s Coming” and “Typhoons”, showcasing their evolving style.

Royal Blood is a British rock duo formed in 2011. The band consists of Mike Kerr on vocals, bass and piano and Ben Thatcher on drums.
