The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim gameplay
Skyrim is a game where you explore a large open world called Skyrim. You can travel to different places such as cities, dungeons, and villages. Players can move faster to places they have found by riding a horse or using the fast travel system.
At the beginning of the game, you create your character by selecting appearance, race, and gender. Your character has attributes such as health, magic (for spells), and stamina (for powerful attacks or sprinting).
These properties decrease as you use them, but refill over time. As your skills level up, your character becomes stronger. There are 18 skills in total, divided into three categories: combat, magic, and stealth. Doing things related to a skill can make it better, like making or using a bow.
You fight monsters while exploring dungeons. You can use both weapons and magic to fight better. You can also talk to other characters, marry some of them, or fight them. Sometimes killing certain characters will affect the quests or items you can obtain. Doing bad things, such as stealing or killing people, may break the law.
Characters in the game can give you side quests. There are characters that can become your friends and help you fight. You can join groups like the Dark Brotherhood and do quests for them.
Combat in the game depends on the use of weapons, armor, magic spells, and enchantments. You can obtain these by finding, buying, or crafting them. Each hand has access to weapons and spells, allowing for different combinations. Some items require both hands to use. The shield helps you defend against attacks, and power attacks are stronger but drain your stamina.
In Skyrim you will encounter different creatures, some are aggressive like wolves and bears, while others run away from you. Dragons are an important part of the game and you can fight them. When you defeat a dragon, you can absorb its soul and use a powerful shout or spell called “Thu’um.” These shouts have different words, and the more words you know, the stronger the shout becomes. You can learn words by finding special walls in dungeons or around the world.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim plot
In Skyrim, at the start of the game, the player is captured by Imperial soldiers alongside Ulfric Stormcloak, and is mistakenly believed to be a rebel. Suddenly, a dragon named Alduin attacks, causing chaos and allowing the players to escape. Players warn Balgruuf of the dragon threat and discover that they possess the power of the Dragonborn, able to absorb dragon souls.
Greybeard, master of the “Way of Sound,” summons the Dragonborn for training. Along the way, the Dragonborn joins forces with the Blades, uncovers ancient legends with Esbern, and learns a powerful cry called “Dragon Split” to fight Alduin. Paarthurnax reveals how to defeat Alduin, leading the Dragonborn to learn Dragonsplit by peering into time using the Elder Scrolls.
After fighting Alduin and learning that he was recovering in Songard, the Dragonborn captured a dragon to reach the afterlife. With the help of the heroes of Songard, the Dragonborn defeated Alduin and returned to Skyrim in triumph.
