Children of the Forest was initially released in Early Access on February 23, 2023 for Microsoft Windows via Steam, with the full version released on February 22, 2024.

In Children of the Forest, the player finds himself stranded on an island inhabited by cannibals, similar to its predecessor, The Forest. The main objective is survival, and the player must utilize crafting and building mechanics in order to stay alive.
