There are three types of weapons: main weapons, secondary weapons and special weapons. The primary weapon is the weapon you choose to use, the secondary weapons are additional tools for your primary weapon, and the special weapons require you to cover the ground with ink in order to use them. You need to manage your ink levels, and swimming in the ink will help replenish it. The game has a lot of weapons, some new and some from earlier Splatoon games.
