Izzy, played by Kane Robinson, lives in a place called The Kitchen, which is like a futuristic neighborhood. It looks a bit strange, with buildings stacked on top of each other, similar to an old place in Hong Kong called Kowloon Walled City. Away from the main areas of London, the Kitchen is where the poor live and Izzy works in a special place called Life After Life, hosting funerals in a unique way. Families who cannot afford regular burials can turn their loved ones into trees for planting.
Izi thinks the government will take over the kitchen soon, so people are ready to leave. Izzy is usually a loner without many friends, but that all changes when he meets a boy named Benji (Jedaya Bannerman). Benji became lonely after losing his parents and began to follow Izi. They become friends, and Izzy’s plans to leave the kitchen become complicated. As the police face more problems and things get worse in the kitchen, Izi and Benji band together to learn how to face challenges and take care of each other. “
