Wizard’s Guide to Flaws
Embarking on a mysterious journey through “The Thaumaturge” brings with it a unique aspect – flaws. These quirks, both optional and necessary, provide opportunities to enhance your character’s abilities and open up interesting dialogue paths.
Understanding the flaws in The Magician
Accessing your flaws is very simple – press O (or Up on the directional pad) to enter the Thaumaturgy menu, then press X twice to navigate to the flaws section. Initially, you start with your own personal flaw, Pride. As you progress, you have the potential to gain more flaws, each of which provides passive benefits, combat advantages, and new dialogue options.
Function of Thaumaturge defect
Once a flaw is acquired, it will grant a persistent passive advantage throughout the game. These advantages can range from bonus points, dimensional power, or combat advantages. Additionally, flaws affect dialogue, introducing new dialogue options that you can explore or ignore as you see fit. There doesn’t seem to be a significant downside to accepting a flaw, so it’s worth a try.
A strategic approach to acquiring defects
Strategically, early encounters with optional salutors in Chapter 2 prove advantageous. Completing side quests to capture these entities unlocks their benefits later in the game. Taking advantage of the opportunities presented in this chapter ensures you have a more powerful character as you progress.

How to play the magician game
The Thaumaturge game is divided into multiple chapters, providing players with an immersive experience where players can explore different areas, interact with characters, engage in combat and complete quests. The game’s combat system is turn-based and involves fighting both human and supernatural enemies.
One unique aspect of the combat system involves the use of ghostly entities known as “salutors”. These “salutors” represent various human flaws, such as recklessness and hubris. For example, recklessness can disrupt the enemy’s concentration, but it creates additional risks for the player. Hubris, on the other hand, can not only damage the enemy, but can also heal the protagonist Victor at the same time.
In addition to combat, salutors are integrated into the dialogue system. Players can use them strategically to manipulate a character’s flaws to gather more information or avoid unnecessary conflict. The results of these interactions depend on the player’s statistics and choices, which affect the available dialogue options.
In addition to combat and dialogue, players can also utilize Wiktor’s perception ability by right-clicking. This ability allows them to observe traces left behind in the game world, including thoughts and knowledge about objects. This acquired knowledge is crucial to solving the game’s mysteries, introducing an investigative element to “The Thaumaturge” gameplay.
