What does the tier list mean?

The tier list breaks down Valorant agents into different tiers based on their perceived effectiveness in a specific map, Split, as of January 2024. Here’s a breakdown of what each tier represents:

S-Tier:

Agents at this level are considered the strongest and most suitable choices in the current meta on the Split map. These agents include Cypher, Killjoy, Raze, Omen, and KAY/O, and are considered very effective and impactful.

Level A:

Agents in this tier are good choices, but may not be as powerful as agents in tier S. Jett, Reyna, Brimstone, Viper, Astra, Skye, and Breach fall into this category and provide solid choices for strategic play.

B-level:

Agents at this level are still viable, but may require more strategic execution. Neon, Phoenix, Sage, Chamber, and Fade are considered effective, but not as powerful as higher-tier agents.

C-level:

Agents of this tier may not be well suited for the Split map. Yoru, ISO, Deadlock, and Harbor are considered to have limitations or may not be as effective in the current meta.

D-level:

Agents at this level are considered the least effective or least suited for the Split map. Gekko and Sova are considered to have little impact or struggle in the specific dynamics of the Split map.

It is important to note that the tier list is subjective and may vary based on personal play style, strategy, and the game’s evolving meta. Players may have success using Agents outside of the top tier depending on personal preference and team composition.

Valorant Gameplay

Valorant is an immersive team-based first-person tactical hero shooter set in a futuristic setting. Players take on the role of Agents, characters inspired by cultures around the world. In the main mode, teams of five players alternate between offense and defense. Agents have unique abilities that require charging, as well as ultimate abilities that are triggered by kills, deaths, orbs, or objectives.

Starting with a “classic” pistol and a signature ability charge per round, players can participate in the in-game economy system to earn currency based on performance. An extensive arsenal of secondary and primary weapons such as submachine guns, shotguns and sniper rifles enhances the strategic experience. With 23 agents to choose from, some unlocked initially and others requiring the in-game currency “Kingdom Points”, the game offers diverse gameplay.

Additionally, within the first 28 days, new Agents can be obtained through Valorant Points, Agent Recruitment Events, or an active Xbox Game Pass subscription, and cosmetic items can be purchased or unlocked using real money.
