Vampire Weekend
Vampire Weekend is a rock band from New York, USA. It was founded in 2006 and is still active in the music scene. They are known for combining indie rock, pop music, world beats, baroque pop and many other musical styles.
The band’s original lineup included lead singer and guitarist Ezra Koenig, multi-instrumentalist Rostam Batmanglij, drummer Chris Tomson and bassist Chris Baio. However, Batmanglij left the band in 2016.
In 2008, they released their eponymous debut album, which was critically acclaimed for its innovative fusion of indie pop, Afropop and chamber music, and shot to fame with hits such as “A-Punk” and “Oxford Comma.”

Their subsequent albums, including Contra (2010), Modern Vampires of the City (2013), and Father of the Bride (2019), continued to solidify their reputation as one of the most creative and successful bands in indie rock, winning several awards, including a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album.
Led by Koenig’s distinctive voice and thoughtful lyrics, Vampire Weekend’s music often explores themes such as identity, culture, and modern life. Their sound features catchy melodies, complex instrumentation, and clever songwriting. Each album pushes the boundaries of their music while staying close to their roots in New York’s vibrant music scene.
