Tears of the Kingdom: Journey to the Fountain Island
In the mission “Tears of the Kingdom”, the protagonist Link embarks on a journey to the Fountain Island. To reach the island, Link uses the Zora Armor, which allows him to swim up the waterfall in East Reservoir Lake. Before reaching the island, however, Link must venture to the ancient Zora Waterworks, an important part of Zora Sidon’s quest.
Gravity and unique terrain challenges
Once at the Fountainhead, Link discovers that gravity behaves in unusual ways. When Link jumps into the air, he experiences a gain in altitude and a slow descent. This altered gravity allows Link to perform excellent jumps, covering greater distances. Many of the smaller islands scattered around Fountain Island are covered in sludge. Link can use splashing fruit to clear away sludge, or use warped gravity to his advantage, allowing him to jump over these obstacles effortlessly.
Water polo and rising platform
Throughout Fountain Island, Link will encounter countless water balls. These spheres act as platforms that Link can jump into, propelling him to higher platforms. By effectively utilizing these water spheres and the Zora Armor’s swimming abilities, Link can reach the top of Fountain Island and eventually reach the entrance to the Water Temple.
Water Temple: a challenging dungeon
The Water Temple is one of the important dungeons in the Tears of the Kingdom storyline. In order to clear the island of sludge that is seeping into Zora’s territory, Link must manipulate the water flow within the temple. The process involves overcoming various obstacles and engaging in combat, including a confrontation with the powerful dungeon boss Mucktorok.
By successfully meeting the challenges of the Wellspring Island and overcoming the trials within the Water Temple, Link is one step closer to completing his mission in the Tears of the Kingdom quest line.
