About “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”
“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” is a 2023 superhero movie starring Jason Momoa as the DC Comics character Aquaman. Directed by James Wan, the film is the sequel to the 2018 “Aquaman” movie and the last installment in the DC Extended Universe. The storyline revolves around Aquaman joining forces with his half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) to thwart the plans of the villain Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II).
With Black Manta’s goal to cause chaos using the dangerous Trident, the characters set out to find a lost underwater kingdom. The idea for a sequel story came to Jason Momoa while making the first film. The sequel is directed by James Wan and crafted with care from a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick.
Filming locations included the UK, Hawaii, Los Angeles and New Jersey. The film will premiere on December 19, 2023, and will be officially released in the United States on December 22. Although highly anticipated, the film was not well received by critics.
