As a result, Jeopardy! chose to reuse questions and contestants from previous seasons when filming most of Season 40. However, the strike was resolved in September 2023, and the show’s writers have returned to work. Despite this, Jeopardy! has continued to host special competitions rather than returning to its traditional format and inviting new contestants.
While Jeopardy! has yet to officially announce a return to regular episodes, there are signs that this could happen soon. Producer Sarah Whitcomb-Fox estimated on an October episode of Inside Jeopardy! that Season 40 should feature “at least 16 weeks” of regular Jeopardy! episodes.
Counting forward 16 weeks from the show’s usual late July finale, this means regular episodes with new contestants could return in early April. However, this is just speculation, and viewers will have to wait for an official announcement from the show’s producers to confirm.

Why aren’t there any new contestants on Jeopardy!?
