Where can one find an overgrown alcove from a previous era?
To discover the Overgrown Alcove of the Ancient Era, head to the Verdant Lake in the Ancient Era. Look for a large moss-covered rock northwest of where you defeated the map boss. This rock guards the entrance to the hidden alcove.
Once you find the mossy boulder, use any attack to break it. Once the boulder is broken, a path will be revealed leading to an overgrown alcove. Follow this path to reach your destination.
Inside the overgrown alcove, you’ll find a temple-like structure adorned with glittering runes. Currently, though, this temple serves no gameplay purpose, and you can’t interact with it to gain any benefits.
Once you’ve explored the overgrown alcove, return to the entrance and retrace your steps under the fallen tree to exit the area.
While the Overgrown Alcove doesn’t have much to do with gameplay right now, it’s speculated that it may be used in a future game. Keep an eye out for updates that may introduce new functionality or uses for this hidden area.

In addition to the Overgrown Alcove, there are several other hidden temples in the Last Epoch. These include the Heoborean Temple in Heoborea (Holy Age), the Fractured Drain in the Barren Aquaduct (Imperial Age), the Sealed Temple in the Courtyard (Ruined Age), and a fourth unknown temple in Imperial Welyrn (Imperial Age). These temples have similar structures to the Overgrown Alcove, but currently serve no real purpose in the game other than being interesting hidden areas reflecting their respective eras.
Stay alert for potential updates that may bring new content or interactions to these hidden shrines from the last era.
All hidden shrines from the last era
In ArcheAge, there are several hidden temples to discover, each adding a touch of mystery to the game. One of these hidden gems is Overgrown Alcove, located on the shores of an ancient emerald lake.
To find the Overgrown Alcove, look for a mossy boulder northwest of where you defeated the map boss. Break the boulder with any attack to reveal a hidden passage leading to the alcove. Inside, you’ll encounter a shrine with glowing runes, though it currently has no effect on gameplay.
But the overgrown alcove isn’t the only place with a mysterious fascination. There are four other hidden temples scattered throughout the last era:
Heoborain Shrine:
Located in Heoborea during the Holy Age.
Broken drain pipe:
Found in a deserted aqueduct from the Imperial period.
Sealed Temple:
Located in the courtyard of the Ruined Era.
Fourth Unknown Shrine:
Age of Empires is hidden in Imperial Verin.

These temples all have the same mysterious structure as the Overgrown Alcove, but currently serve no real purpose in the game. While these hidden areas do not bring immediate rewards, players speculate that they may become important in future updates, increasing the excitement of exploration.
Stay tuned for updates as Last Age will continue to evolve, revealing more secrets and potential uses for these intriguing hidden shrines.
