Shane Michael Gillis (born December 11, 1987) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, sketch comedy writer, and podcaster. He co-hosts the most subscribed podcast on Patreon, The Secret Podcast with Matt and Sean, with comedian Matt McCusker.
Gillis gained recognition in 2019 when he was named one of the “New Faces” at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. Gillis was originally announced as a new cast member on NBC’s sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live.
However, just five days later, he was fired following controversy surrounding his use of a racial slur during a 2018 podcast episode. Despite the setback, Gillis continued his comedic pursuits and in 2021 released his first comedy special, Sean Gillis: Live from Austin, on YouTube.
