Who is Sean Finn?
Seán Finn, born January 24, 1996, is an Irish pitcher. He is best known for playing as a right cornerback for the Bluff club team and also represents the Limerick senior hurling team in inter-county competitions.

Sean Finn’s early life
Seán Finn was born in Bruff, County Limerick. Finn has a hurling background. His father, Brian Finn, was a member of the Limerick senior hurling team which won a Munster Championship medal in 1994.

Sean Finn’s career
University
While studying at the University of Limerick, Finn was selected as a member of the university’s senior hockey team. On February 24, 2018, UL defeated Dublin City University 2-21 2-15 in the final and won the Fitzgibbon Cup medal.

Finn became a member of the Bluff club at a young age and progressed through the age groups and levels, eventually joining the club’s senior team. On October 25, 2014, Bluff defeated Crum 2-14 to 0-16 in the final and won the Super Intermediate Championship medal.

Minors and under 21 years old
At the age of seventeen, Finn made his debut for the Limerick junior hurling team. On 23 July 2013, he played at left cornerback as Limerick won the Munster Championship for the first time in 29 years. They achieved this after beating Watford 1-20 4-08 after a replay in the final.

The following year, Finn still qualified for the minor categories and won another Munster Championship medal. In the rematch of the final, Limerick faced Watford again and won 0-24 to 0-18. On 7 September 2014, Finn played at right cornerback in the All-Ireland final, as Limerick lost 2–17 to 0–19 to Kilkenny.

Finn subsequently joined the Limerick Under-21 Hockey Team. In his first season, he won a Munster Championship medal in a 0-22 to 0-19 win over Clare in the final. On 12 September 2015, Finn played as right cornerback in the All-Ireland final as Limerick defeated Wexford 0–26 to 1–07.
Unfortunately, Finn suffered a torn cruciate ligament on February 4, 2016, which sidelined him for the entire year. However, he made a comeback in 2017 and won a second Munster Championship medal. Limerick defeated Cork in the final 0-16 to 1-11. On 9 September 2017, Finn played at right cornerback in Limerick’s All-Ireland final against Kilkenny, the final score being 0–17 to 0–11. He was later recognized for his outstanding performance and was named Bord Gáis Energy Team of the Year.

2016 season
Finn was selected by Limerick senior team manager TJ Ryan to join the squad ahead of the 2016 Munster League. He made his first appearance for the team on 3 January 2016, playing as right cornerback against Kerry, Limerick winning 2-23 to 0-18. Finn started again for the team on 23 January 2016, but Limerick were defeated by Clare in the final. Unfortunately, on February 9, 2016, Finn suffered a torn cruciate ligament and missed the remainder of the season.

2017 season
After recovering from a cruciate injury, Finn was called up to the Limerick squad again for the 2017 season under new manager John Kiely. Despite not participating in Munster United’s pre-season match, he made his debut in a National League match against Offaly on 4 March 2017, which Limerick won 1–25 to 3–15. Throughout the season, Finn made three league appearances, one of which came as a substitute in the semi-final defeat to Galway. He made his Munster Championship debut on 4 June 2017 in a semi-final loss to Clare 3–17 to 2–16.
2018 season
Finn was once again named in the Limerick 38-man squad for the upcoming 2018 season. However, he only made one appearance in Munster United’s pre-season. Finn played in five of Limerick’s seven games in the subsequent National League campaign. On 19 August 2018, he started at right cornerback in the All-Ireland final against Galway, which Limerick won 3-16 to 2-18 and won their first All-Ireland championship in 45 years. . Finn’s impressive performance earned him a spot on the Sunday Game of the Year All-Pro team and later an All-Star selection at right cornerback.
2019 season
Finn went on to become a regular for Limerick during the 2019 National League campaign, playing in seven of eight games. On March 31, 2019, Limerick defeated Watford 1-24, 0-19 in the final. He played as a full-back and helped Limerick win the first division championship for the first time since 1997. . At the 2019 Munster Championships, Finn won his first provincial championship medal, beating Tipperary 2-26 to 2-14 in the Munster final. His outstanding performance was again recognized and he was selected to the GAA/GPA All-Star team at right cornerback for the second consecutive year.

2020 season
Finn did not feature in Limerick’s two 2020 Munster League group matches. However, he returned as a substitute in the final against Cork on 11 January 2020, which Limerick won 1-32 to 0-20. Finn played in four of Limerick’s five Grade 1A games in the National League. On 25 October 2020, he started at right cornerback in the league final and contributed to Limerick’s 0-36 to 1-23 victory over Clare. Finn ended the 2020 Munster Championship with a second consecutive winners’ medal following Limerick’s win over Watford. On December 13, 2020, he was again selected as the right corner back in the All-Ireland final against Watford, sealing his second title in three years with a score of 0-30 to 0-19.
