As is tradition with the show, Hometown Week ended with a dramatic rose ceremony at a Los Angeles hangar. Before Joey presented the first Fantasy Suite rose, Mariah pulled him aside for a private conversation at the back of the plane, revealing her regret for not confessing her feelings to him sooner. Visibly conflicted, Joey took a moment to think about her confession before rejoining the group to hand out the roses. Daisy received the first rose, followed by Kelsey and then Rachel, marking Mariah’s farewell.
“Even though you didn’t say the words you said tonight, I want you to know that I tried my best,” he said. “In some way, this doesn’t feel right, and it’s hard.” Maria told him she was okay before getting in her car and leaving without a hug. “I’m confused. I came here and showed him my all, told him I was in love with him, and if that wasn’t enough for him, what else could I give this man?” she told the camera. “I should have told him how I felt sooner, and that’s my biggest regret.”
Each elimination is a difficult decision for Joey, and the contestants are disappointed after investing so much time and emotion into forming a connection with him. Despite being eliminated, the contestants leave the show with new experiences and self-discovery that may help them continue to find love outside of the show.
Although it is difficult to say goodbye to the eliminated contestants, Joey remains focused on following his heart and making the best decision in his journey to find his life partner. As the competition progresses, the remaining contestants will continue to compete for Joey’s heart, hoping to eventually capture his heart and become his chosen partner.
