The story of MF Ghost is set in the future, around the late 2020s to early 2030s, when self-driving electric cars have replaced regular cars and become the norm. But in Japan, there is a special group called MFG, led by Ryosuke Takahashi from the Initial D series, who only likes street racing with regular cars.

Entering the scene was a talented newcomer named Kanata Rivington (alias Kanata Katagiri), a 19-year-old British-Japanese lad who drove a Toyota 86 to beat luxury European cars such as Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Porsches, and attracted everyone’s attention.

Kanata’s amazing skills stem from his training with renowned racer Takumi Fujiwara at the Royal Donington Racing School in England. Kanata is also a Formula 4 world champion. But his racing dreams are driven by a personal mission – to find his long-lost father. This adds excitement and mystery to Kanata’s character, keeping readers and viewers fascinated by the story of “MF Ghost”.
